anyway, regardless of closeness to the Tubescreamers, the Danelectro Cool Cat TOD or the Digitech Bad Monkey would be fine bets for good cheap overdrive pedals.

hopefully not OT since we are on the topic of OD

masters advise..my problem is I cannot always play loud, and too often, with work pa, but nonetheless, its fun (though expensive) to have GAS and get gear...means I cannot keep on trying stuff, so I will rely on your advise

so ok, I want to get a Cream / Clapton type overdrive (say sunshine of your love, white room...)

other than the guitar / pick up / tone volume set up...

do I just get a tube amp or buy pedals?

i've bought a few pedals na rin kasi siguro yung value maka tube amp na ako

I'm not a huge fan of those tiny tube amps, but I will say this...

You will never really be happy with your guitar sound as long as your amp (or powered speaker, for those using modelers) is the weakest link in your chain.

sir gaano ka tiny yung "Tiny" na sinasabi mo? lets say 10 watts tube amp with 10" speaker (cub 10)?

Smaller... the CUB8 and the like. For 1x8's or smaller, I prefer to go digital. Pero ako lang yan with what I require from my gear. Far be it from me to say buying a CUB8 or a Vox AC4TV is a bad idea.

hi al, got your point actually, with what you said, i realized there is no point in having too many guitars (I have too many - 4 for non-gigging guy), and too many pedals - dapat nga at the outset matino amp - then take it from there

tama ka sir. base sa limitado kong experience parang mas ok pa rin bumili na lang ng 30+watts ss with 12" speaker kesa bumili ng all-tube amp nga kaso sobrang liit . parang may kulang feeling ko manipis at medyo trebly or basta parang may kulang. di ko ma-express sa salita lang e.

Para sa akin a 10 watt tube amp is just meant to be cranked at small jams or practice. Di kasi maganda gamitan ng effects.
