tanung lang..how come other models of fenders have more 'yellowish' maple necks/fretboards than the others? sa grade ba ng kahoy yan o maple becomes more vintage looking with age?

it's the finish. nitrocellulose lacquer turns yellow over time. it's mimicked for some new guitars by using tinted lacquer or poly.

no. only nitro yellows naturally over time.

for other finishes, it's either clear or tinted and will stay that way permanently under normal circumstances.

yep yang mga totoy na ganyan di na pinapansin.. feeling cool kaya crap nang crap hahaha!

maple is my favorite neck/fretboard wood. and yeah, i think only nitrocellulose-finished maple necks turn yellow over time. i prefer oil-finished maple. pag gamit na gamit yung guitar, magdadarken sya na medyo vintage ang dating. i dunno about you guys, pero trip ko yung ganun hehe :)

We understand the attraction of raw or lightly oiled necks. They feel fast and are not sticky. Unfortunately, they are much more susceptible to moisture related warping and twisting. Our experience is that hard finished necks seldom warp. Less than 1 out of 200 (0.5%) are returned for warpage. Raw or oiled necks don't fare as well. About 10% are rendered useless from the torture. The more acidic your perspiration, the higher the odds are against you.

If you must play a raw neck, that's cool; it's ok. A neck is just a tool. Just be aware of the risk. If yours does the pretzel act, we don't want to hear about it.

yay    sarap pa naman ng feel ng raw neck. oh well
