Home based recording
« on: November 13, 2012, 06:09:47 PM »
Hi, pahingi naman po ng tips and suggestions, or share your own setup and experiences sa pagrecord sa bahay.

What are good gears/gadgets, computer programs and setup for a decent recording na home based lang, particularly for guitar. Yung tipong laptop/desktop lang and some gears.  Not intended for 'official' recording, just mere demos and "I wanna hear how I sound" kind of recording lang naman.

Kung meron na existing thread, kindly guide me to it para delete ko na to. Maraming Salamat  ^-^

Guitar > Joyo American Sound (nice clean amp sim with lots of headroom) > M-Audio Fasttrack (can use it with a mic too!) > Computer running Reaper
Offset guitars for life.

There's no way na hindi ka mapapagastos sa objective mo. Pag tinipid mo kasi, tipid din results ng recording mo. Just get a good interface. Some of them are bundled with a recording software. You can either mic your amp or use softwares like Amplitube.

Salamat sa mga nagshare at nagpayo, I'll check out those things you guys mentioned.

my first and foremost answer to this kind of question (which I also happen to know here in PM) is
.... how much is your budget?

from this, we can effectively advice a set of hardwares that is optimized and pricewise for your needs and use.

tama. in my case, nung nagrerecord na ako tapos di ko makuha yung iniisip at pina-pangarap kong tunog eh tinanggap ko na lang kasi hanggang dun lang kaya ng pera ko eh.

ok, topic. yung 2nd question ko naman is what gears do you already have? guitars, amps, microphones, cables, other instruments, etc. kung may list ng available equipment eh malalaman natin kung ano yung kulang at kailangang idagdag.  :)

kung may mixer kahit behringer uca pwede na. use the rca output of mixer to laptop.

in general, get an interface na may ASIO/WDM/Core audio driver. yun ang ideal for recording.

 haha sya nga naman. Well for now, I only have an electric guitar, a 15 watt practice amp, one distortion pedal, a laptop(2gig RAM, 1.6Ghz), a desktop computer(4gig RAM, 2.6Ghz).

Sorry wala pako masabing budget ko, newly employed palang kasi ako, and nag paplano palang magipon sana para sa mga gamit.
