1.) Establish rates for half hour and full hour lessons, and decide which students can handle an hour-long session

2.) Have a cancellation policy e.g 24 hour notice to avoid hassles

3.) Patience is a virtue my friend, students don't learn overnight! :-D

4.) Open yourself to learning and re-learning; teaching is one way of refreshing skills, every one needs a refresher once in a while! learn with your student! share ideas!

5.) Enjoy making music! it's not about perfecting a rudiment or mastering note reading, it's all about the music! never forget that!

6.) Keep things simple yet creative, rudiments are a pain in the back-end! play rudiments with a song or a tune to make it easier for your student to remember! just sing the beat!

wala naman sa age gap yan e. remember that you will be in a teaching service, patience talaga kailangan mo. and respect your students to-be dahil babayaran ka nyan.

btw, you must be very talented or over confident to teach at that young age. you're a great envy to me

no matter what age.. music is universal and timeless! :-)

in teaching, set expectations kung ano yung alam mo at kung ano yung areas na kaya mong i-cover. inform your student kung ano ang weak spots mo para at least hindi ka maipit kapag may tinanong or pinaturo na hindi mo sakop talaga!

lots of patience kapatid,
for music schools you teach many peeps pero lower rates hundred plus to two hundred maybe but you are assured of students
for home service, you have to hunt your own and build reputation, but rates are higher around 500 more or less
for materials most of the music schools require you to know how to read notes and teach them notes rather than widow
i suggest realistic method for rock ba yun by carmine appice, you have to be flexible, magtuturo ka ng mga bata, mga baduy na mga kpop songs, etc, and you have to learn all styles kasi may mga mapapadaan na advance students, hehe, and wag mo damdamin na dapat alam mo,drums and music and general is a continous study, dati i can't teach double pedal,i tell my student i can't pero now i know some stuff.
and laslty, patience ulit, lalo na sa mga bata.
