Steer clear of the M-Audio's and The Samson Resolv series.  Get the Samson Rubicon series instead.  The KRK's are the greatest among the bunch you said.

Pero nga pala, tune your control room first to get the most out of your monitors.

+1 for the KRK's and Rubicons. SoS gave passing marks on the Resolv 80a, what's your reason for disliking them, skunkyfunk?

Not that I dislike the Resolvs.  It's more like, I'd rather save up to get the Rubicons instead.  Samson puts out great stuff for the price.

just want to ask if the price listed for krk monitors at musicians friend comes in pairs or per piece? (i.e. krk rp-5 = $149.99)

Per piece!  :-D  Syemps, mas mura Tapco in comparison sa Mackie HR824s. Magkano kaya mga Genelecs dito? Hmmm....

base po dun sa 3...KRK na panalo dun...base sa mga reviews...angat po sa lahat.kaso medyo may kamahalan lang.i settled sa Wharfedale diamond 8.2a dapat talaga KRK rockit 8 ako e...huhuhu...

if you can get the new Yamaha HS80M and HS50M, they sound really good and fared well in several reviews.

nyahark!!! edu!!! kamusta??? hahhahah! astig! onga baka bday gifi ko krk sa sarili ko hehhe pero narinig ko kanina sa isang shop yung Tapco S5 na monitors...gawa daw sya ng Mackie ok din...pero icocompare ko sya sa KRK pag bumisita ako minsan sa shop nila =) THE EDMERS IS BACK!!!! HARHAR!
