I know I wouldn't be blown away because I've been there.

In the most recent revisions of my rig, I went from all analog through a tube amp, to a hybrid setup, then a POD HD500. With the POD, I started with a Samson MediaOne 5a then temporarily moved to a Logitech Z540. It was a sonically significant downgrade and gave up on it quickly. I moved to a new pair of MediaOnes and all was well again. And I also happen to like them better for gaming.

You can say that the Z540 may or may not qualify as a "good" PC speaker. But the thing is, the powered studio monitor (or the in-betweener like the MediaOne) will most likely be a more appropriate, if not the downright better sounding output device than the PC speaker within the same price point.

Don't get me wrong. I agree with you to a certain extent. My early attempts at direct recording involved an old Altec Lansing ATP3. I can get a good sound from that, but it took time to figure out its quirks and voicing. That's additional work which I don't see the point in bothering with if what I think are better options are readily available and accessible.

Agree ako dito. I have a media5 one myself and an maudio intrerface plus a tube preamp to go with it. Sinubukan ko yung tunog ng mga virtual amp softwares (amplitube and the likes) at mas gusto ko pa rin tunog ng tunay na amp. I got a fender
Princeton solidstate and a peavey tube amp. Dumaan din ako sa 6multifx na iba ibang brand bagonako nag analog. mas ok pa rin pag amp.

isa lang sagot dayn STAGG GA60 tapos

+1 pinaka pedal friendly. and volume wise, talong talo si Laney, orange and marshall. and you can get one for 7k Bnew IIRC. wala pang sale yun.

i made an indepth review ng STAGG GAR 20 vs Marshall MG30CFX. hindi ko pa lang napupublish. pero hands down sa stagg ako.

20 watts palang talo na sa volume yung marshall. pano pa kaya yung 60 watts.

Roland Cube. It'll outlast anything.
The sound coming out of that amp is nice.
If only it's louder and clearer..
