It depends. If you have a few pedals on your board and hear no significant tone loss, TBP is fine. If you have more, get the buffered to retain highs. Currently I have 10 pedals on my board and had significant tone loss without the buffer in front of the TCE Polytune. Consequently, I made one based on the Klon Centaur and is sitting at the back of the board like so.
