bro, try to consider the emu 1616m.  supposedly it's an improved version of the 1820m.  iba na ata yun preamps.  plus puede ka pa mag-emulator X, which's a very cheap soft-sampler if you're into romplers.

I like Emu as much as x does, pero let's add some fuel to the fire.

The TC Konnekt is very, very good kaso for 4 inputs, parang bitin. I like the portability of the Ultralite pero you should also look at the MOTU 8pre which is priced the same. It has 8 mic pres compared to the Ultralite's 2; I think that makes it more usable in a studio environment.

I also think you should consider the Edirol FA-101 whch is very similar to the Ultralite.

peace sirs, sir naman!GAS sa tyan(alang pangkain na! ) hehehhe.. sir x-taxi di ba PCI yung 1616M?tama ba?kasi po parang leaning ako po sa firewire connection na e.pero salamat sir tignan ko din 1616m..

problema ko pa nga PC ko e.bukod sa ala pa, kelangan supported ang Fw connection..kasi may parang requirement ang mga ieee specs na brand...texas instruments or much  more kilala pa para sa MOTU ang parang required.tapos sa TC parang ganun din..

Kung naka MacMini ka naman, may kasamang AudioDesk software (Mac), which is the audio engine ng Digital Performer. Too bad walang PC equivalent.

recommend kasi sa akin na dapat with FIrewire port na gawa ang CHIPSET sa Texas Instruments po...

Bindoy i got the MOTU HD192... nung una masira sira ulo ko dahil me problem sa recording kasi me click and i even called kitC a lot of times..pero ok na siya ngayon.  the best part about this rig is you can add more motus sa pci card niya, yes PCI nde ako naka firewire hehehehe..for a total of 48 tracks that's 48 INS and 48 outs at 192 kH sample rate 24 bit.. if u are using a MAC, it came with a free software called Audio desk..pero kung naka PC ka ok din. it works fine with a PC..my set up? pent 4 3.06 lang na hyperthreading , 1.5 gigs mem with scsi and Sata drives..
pagbalik ko sa feb..masusubukan ko talaga ito sa project namin na jazz recording at RAP..ok?

Just to clarify sa MOTU that comes with PCI-324 and PCI-424 cards. AFAIK, these are firewire cards but they use a proprietary MOTU protocol that's why you can gang 3 or 4 MOTU interfaces per card, but you cannot use other firewire devices with it. RME uses a similar system with their Multiface and Digiface systems.

pero sir, kasi recommended talaga na firewire chipset texas instruments...kaya nga patulong ako kay sir jepoy and chito_eoi sa board acquisition ko po...baka board na may firewire onboard nalang bilhin ko po..kaso research pa din kung texas to...

Don't worry about the Ultralite as it is certified for plain firewire unlike the other PCI-324/424 based MOTU cards.
