Bakit kaya kung sikat ang Pilipino sa America, mas hanga tayo? Di ba sapat na magaling sila? Kailangan ba sikat sa America para lang mabigyan ng pansin?

May TV show guesting ulit si Arnel Pineda habang tinatype ko 'to. Well and good for him. I just hope that someday, mawalan na ng pwesto sa telebisyon ang mga taong sikat, ngunit walang talent, at mabigyan ng pansin ang mga tulad ni Arnel at Charice.

I don't think sikat na sila dito. Siguro regarded sila as exceptional musicians, by musicians and music afficionados (and in the case of Arnel, fans of Journey who at least knew the name of the original singer), pero I don't think may recall sila sa masa (which is how I understand sikat-ness )

Hindi naman totally  unknown. pero mababa ang market values nila compared to  Side A & Sarah Geronimo respectively.  I guess, we are discriminating  our own kind in politics and entertainment. it's a common practice that's why Frenchie Dy,  Mau Marcelo,  and Rosita disappeared in the limelight. even the phenomenal singers like Jaya, Jessa Zaragoza, & Bituin Escalante lost their lusters just like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode , Michael Learns to Rock, The Moffats, Hanson, Damage, A1, BSB & Westlife. they're only good as their last performances/songs  sold millions. Where are Brian McKnight, David Pomeranz, Jim Brickman, Michael Buble and Keith Martin who once graced Metro Manila randomnly and frequently? it's either we dont have the money to buy them or they don't  impress at all. I guess, Pinoys in general will pick PBA imports in a wink. haha.

I like to include  the missing AI grads namely Jasmine Trias, Camile Velasco & Ramielle Malubay (who resurfaced in Ogie's recent concert) including Fantasia Barrino ,Taylor Hicks & Carrie Underwood. haha. I forgot to mention, Gary Barlow, Joey Mackintire, Peter Andre, Thalia, Gloria Estefan, Roxette & Toni Braxton...

Charice and Arnel must know how to play their cards wisely, so they will not return home just like ordinary no-name horses since Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez, Tia Carrere, Lani Misalucha, Paolo Montalban & even Billy Crawford who may rival the likes of Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Ne Yo, Chris Brown, etc. can not penetrate in USA while they have the voice and talent. so there must be discrimination since they can give those A-listers a good competition w/o being pathetic and copycats-Charice upstaging Celine Dion and Jennifer Hudson and Arnel emerging as the new vocalist of Journey. although Regine follows Mariah to the extent of tagalizing her billboard hits

In the end, it's all about the 'formula'. Recording outfits, Media networks and producers will only cater/promote artists whom they think is marketable. Sad but freaking true.

Dami kasing mga "biritista" dito. Bargain ang bokalista dito, unless ma expose ka sa PBB, o -groom ka ng mga [pichapie] sa ABS-CBN, or talagang may kalaliman and legit ang musicality (aside from their  athletic vocal chords) mahihirapan maka-penetrate kahit sino.

Di naman sila kaganda/pogi para kabaliwan. Mukhang ordinary korean at vietnamese nga sila e(No offense sa mga sinkit, may maganda namang sinkit at malamang ikaw yun, hehe, Peace!)

Pero, magaling sila ha. Di ko kaya mga ginagawa nila.

But it's very inspiring that Charice graces the limelight conspicuously from Madison Square to the White House. i hope she won't suffer frostbite..err..and hurricane as soon she threatens Vanessa Hudgens , another fil on the rise..and Miley Cyrus in TV/Disney exposures.

Goodluck to her American Dream..i bet Sarah greens with envy as she also wants to upstage her idol , Beyonce. haha.  after Regine failed to outdo Mariah with her melismatic style of singing..

Kaya nga hawak sila ng ABS-CBN ngayon kasi pinagkakakitaan nila ang pagiging sikat nila, pero once na malaos sila mas mabilis pa sa alas-kwatro na bibitawan agad ng ABS yang mga yan gaya ng ginawa nila sa marami nilang mga talents.

it's all about marketing on how the music label company will promote your song on tv,radio and print ads. sad to say the tv networks has the biggest hand on what direction your musical career will lead to.

otherwise you just have to go underground or indie and hope for the best as to how your song will be heard and be appreciated by the listeners.
