i dont think you'll be able to make good recordings with those portable recorders like that. I think Korg has one like that KORG PXR4?

i think this should be cool for recording "found sounds" or maybe a live recording (passing through a mixer). :D

this would be very convenient to use for song writing purposes, mobile sample recording, practice, and demo recording.   but i doubt it can yeild hi-fi recordings since the storage media is only 128 MB in size. this means that the unit probably uses heavy data compression to make 4 tracks of audio fit into such limited space.  i used to record on a roland vs-840 loaded with one 100MB zip drive.  my problem was that my recordings were not as detailed as commercial releases. when i shifted to better A/D's and higher recording rates, the details started to blossom  :-D
