provided that the guitar is intonated PROPERLY...string through, neck through guitars are supposed to have the best sustain. as long as your guitar is set up and maintained like its supposed to be...you should be good to go even if you have a guitar that is set neck, bolt on, neck through using a variety of bridges out there.

Fatback, mahogany-bodied, Large stud, roller-TOM with solid brass stop tailpiece.  :-D

Haha, Seriously.

Tune-O-Matics have more sustain compared to tremolo/hardtail bridges.

String through body has more sustain compared to strings trough-top bridges.
Get Wylde.

ano ba talaga yung "tune-o-matic"? is it the tailpiece or saddle? maganda ba rin ito for bolt-on guitars?

Ito yung bridge na nakikita mo sa mga Les Paul, ES-335 ng Gibson and their clones.

i'd still go for anything fixed bridge.

saka parang mali yung question. since there are more than 2 choices, it should be "which guitar bridge type has the most sustain?"

^ You have a point there. :-)

Fixed bridge nga daw ang pinaka-maganda for sustain. Then among fixed bridges, I'm not sure if it's the wraparound tailpiece or TOM bridge na string-thru, or string-thru alone.

can i be politically incorrect by saying that sustain is a bit overrated?  :-D

it's the part with the saddles. you can use the TOM without the stopbar tailpiece (string-through). and yes, it will do fine with a bolt-on guitar.

important yung if you strum just once per song!

can one really have too much sustain? i've never heard anyone complain that their guitar sustains too much and its irritating kasi they have to constantly regulate the sustain with their right hand. OTOH, i can see where guitar control freaks would want a guitar that wont stop ringing a note until they make it stop.

don't get me wrong. i love sustain as much as the next guy. i just don't need lots of it all the time (i don't even need it most of the time). and from what i've heard so far, neither do you or just about anyone else. like i said - a bit overrated.

I don't think it's in the bridge but it is more on the guitar structure, like what was already said neck-thru or set thru guitars will produce more sustains and to highlight it more is to have a T-O-M bridge … that's my 2 cents
