Logic Pro...any users here??
« on: June 24, 2007, 08:25:33 PM »
i am presently setting up a studio for a friend and he just purchased a mac pro ( 2 gigs memory).. i used garage band before and was pleased with it..  a few days later he got Logic Pro and told me he will use it to write his musical ideas.. now my questions is..is it any different from Nuendo ( which is what i am using right now) or Protools or Sonar/Cubase???? any strengths or problem with this flatform? i am asking this because i may have to transfer files from this format to Nuendo.. 8-)

Logic Pro won't accept Nuendo project but you can try exporting the wavs as OMF files then try importing those into Logic. Hopefully the timestamps will be retained during the transfer.
Sonar 4.04PE/5.2PE/7.02PE/8.31 PE, Project 5 v2.5.1, EmulatorX 1.5, Cubase SL2, Ableton Live 7.14,  Intel Q6600 MSI P43 Neo 4Gb Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-800, Emu 1820m, Yamaha DSP Factory, Terratec DMX 6fire

i spent quite a long time trying to figure it out. got it to work, but never really got to do a lot with it. maybe i was unfair to the program. i was trying to make it behave like cubase, which i know fairly well. but most of my friends who are using it are happy with it. as for me, i was only too happy to let go of it, but that's just me.

I was on it for a few years.  I actually love it.  But alas, due to hardware and OSX metamorphosis issues, I'm back on a Peecee using Cubase SX3.  Hey if it works for Hans, it works for me :-)

Logic's great though, and a tweaker's paradise.  I love the fact that I can have a full template with an empty arrange window, command click an instrument in the environment, and it's on the selected track.  That's one of the things I miss the most.  Once Apple settles down, I may return :-)

hi Baldo,

I'm sorry I didn't actually answer your question.....but yes...it's way different.  It's easier going from Cubase/Nuendo to Pro Tools than from anything to Logic to anything.  :-)

Sure thing.  Just let me know when you'd like to come over and hang.  Just make sure your saliva doesn't drip on the Neves.  Mine almost did, buti nalang suot ko bib ko :-)  It's a pretty cool studio....not perfect by any stretch, but it's home sweet home to me, Marvin, and a host of others.
