ung dati at ngayon parehong maganda. ang nangyayari lang kasi ngayon, masyadong marami nang mga musician's that are coming out (indie or major). andami nang avenues to promote music. dati kasi, mas malaki ung exposure ng major label groups. kaya usually what you get to hear are the "better" groups. You don't get to hear the underground bands unless you go to gigs.
I think that's the big misconception when it comes to comparing the old with the new. Of course in the old days, the music was better in terms of quality:quantity because weeded out na ung so-so groups. Nowadays ung ratio ng quality:quantity mejo mababa ung quality side just because there are too many groups that have ways and means to come out and have their music heard.
