Sounclick help please! (is this the right forum?)
« on: November 02, 2007, 12:28:06 PM »
Guys, whenever i upload anything into soundclick there's a change in speed and pitch! Like my blue bossa for example, di nagdouble speed, more like x1.7 or something.

Is there a way to solve this?  :|

if your recorded track is in 48000 that is compressed in 128kb/s... you really have a problem there. Sounclick only allows user to upload song recorded at 44100.

Hope this helps...

If the file is originally 48 khz then played back at 44.1, it will play slower and lower in pitch, while a 44.1 file played back at 48 khz will be faster and higher in pitch by about 1.1 notes. Look at the conversions performed before the file was uploaded. Chances are you had a 44.1 khz wav file converted to 48 khz somewhere down the line without proper sample rate conversion performed, then was converted to 44.1 mp3 with sample rate conversion.

Do you mean the bit rate (kbps) of the file? In general, that determines the amount of compression, but you will achieve the same pitch shift effect by encoding a 44.1 khz wav file to 48 khz mp3, regardless of kbps setting. Kinda reminds one of EVH's "Jump" fiasco a while back.
