... would yield the same cymbal sound, provided you use the same cymbal felts, with the same cymbal angle positioning.

Is hardware heavy-dutiness purely for longevity reasons?  Or is it the thin cymbal stands what makes vintage recordings sound different too?

muffled ang tunog ng cymbal sa double braced stand kasi mas mabigat yung stand at mas less yung vibration transfer nya. mas free makakagalaw yung cymbal sa thin stand therefore more sustain. its like comparing briefs and boxer shorts  :-D

yes, of course im joking  :-D

Is it better if we mount the cymbal by hanging it in the stand rather than mounting it?  I have seen these kinds of setup wherin the cymbal is hanged in the stand... will try to look for pics...

get rid of modern recording process and gears and redo the orthodox way. get a vintage cymbal, a vintage stand, an old drumset, the studio acoustics they've used and vintage mics as well and record it. Now switch to the  modern process and compare the results. ...that would bust the myth. :-D
