My mom is going to be there for about a year and shall be coming home every so often, like every month or so.  Naku kawawa na naman budget ko!

What can I get there that is the US guys are kinda hard-pressed to get?  I thought:

Vintage Fane Speakers and Hiwatt cabs
Vintage Celestions
Vintage Laneys
Vintage Colorsound pedals
Vintage Jen pedals
Selmer Amps
Vintage Vox Amps and pedals
Vintage Marshalls
Matamp amps
Orange Amps

Damn help me think!!!

Dude, UK prices are insane! Even their domestic products are horribly priced. Ask yourself if it's really worth it. In the four years we've lived there, I couldn't think of any purchase that I could call a bargain.

yup, everything is expensive sa UK. halos doble sa price US or dito sa pinas. if you'll check my past posts or replies, may mga ilan na nagre-reklamo ako sa prices ng gear doon. ma pa bago and lalo na ang mga vintage. example is a second hand tokai strat will cost you 500 UK pounds. tama si bart, food and domestic products are horribly priced. i just got back from a work on a cruise ship na based sa UK and na-frustrate ako kasi ax1500g and marshall mg10 lang nabili ko. one of the reasons kung bakit ang next target ko na apply-an ay US-based na ship. gear heaven talaga ang states and canada. sorry sa litanya, hehehe. :-D

Not unless makachamba ang mother mo ng vintage na AC30 sa Boot Sale for ₤50. It happens once in a blue moon.

stuff generally sells for more in the UK and elsewhere in the GB. Bareknuckles are still 150-170 GBP per set. Moreover, the fact that you are looking for specifically vintage stuff will cost you more but this is true wherever you are. Nevertheless, the euro was stronger when I was  in Britain but now it ain't doing so hot. but like other peeps say, maybe you can score a good deal somewhere. good luck.

@ sonnyrayvaughan: is gear any cheaper in Amsterdam?

Nope...compared to NA, mahal pa rin.

to give you an idea eto site ng largest music instrument store sa buong yurup:
http://www.musicstore.de

sa London central, theres a street there, nalimutan ko na yung name na isang buong hilera ng music stores.. their prices are on the same level.

ebay UK is very expensive... bareknuckle pups are more expensive in the UK than outside.

talo ka na sa price.. talo ka pa sa monetary conversion dahil malakas ang sterling.

anyway...good luck na rin :)
