@xjepoyxSana maintindihan hehe English 1 lang naman yan..

Paki-Ingles nga kasi yung ini-Ingles mo.

And some questions I’d like to clear like
The deference of a PCDJ and A DJ that use turntables,

The root word of "deference" is "defer."

[def-er-uhns]–noun
1. respectful submission or yielding to the judgment, opinion, will, etc., of another.
2. respectful or courteous regard: in deference to his wishes.

I think you meant to use the word "difference."

I’m one of the PCDJs  that use dj programs software.. but other said that  a dj uses a software program or just a PC are fake. Is this true? Coz for me it is not. This is being a practical dj. I mean I don’t like carrying so many vinyl at my gig and suddenly when I choose music I go “OH my god, where is that vinyl that has the song I’m looking for, the track will end at 3 minutes and I could not find that piece of Crap!”

So yan ang dahilan kung bakit nag switch ako sa PCDJ pero it doesn’t mean that I don’t like vinyl turntables anymore, I still like them but I like the upgraded usb style now,

The important thing is for you to improve your craft, and not worry about semantics.

I wouldn't agree that it's your gear that defines you. Although I would have to concede that they do help define you, it's what you do with your equipment that matters more. Early this year, I got a Korg Zero8. Although it's a piece of equipment that was primarily meant for DJing, that didn't make me a DJ. And besides, I sold it -- to a DJ. I can't say he's a PCDJ, because he uses a Mac. :-)

Merikrismas po sa lahat. Haha.

So I guess he's a Mac DJ?  :-D

True dat

hindi lang namin gusto yung mga PC DJ dahil minsan ginagamit nila yung automatic mix, lahat ng hirap sa pagDJ ginagawa na sa iyo.
ika nga "The lost art of DJing"

aka iTunes DJs. (How about we call them "sound operators", how about that?  :-D - http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,101789.0.html)

Not all "PC DJs" are like that tho. Garbage in, garbage out lang, just like traditional DJs.

I'm thinking along that line too. :-)

Personally, I listen to the music itself, but maybe that's just me. I'm not really so concerned about how it was done, whether it was done in automatic mode or not. Again, maybe that's just me. :-)

some people don't care - depends on the scene though. i've been in small pubs where a small hiccup or even a brief trainwreck wouldn't produce a soured face from the audience and some places where the audience are very particular about the seamless mixing of the DJ so any galloping beats has quite a few people throwing irritated glances at the DJ manning the decks that night.

Same here, it's product over process for me. Good thing the people I run with don't get overly technical with what I do. Saves a lot of insecurity about people judging me based solely on what my kit consists of.

Not sure about club managers in the Philippines tho', they'd probably turn white if I showed up looking to use my laptop, soundcard, microkontrol and nothing else.

Plus there's really no space for a separate laptop-based setup inside the dj booth, apart from the club's own SSL rig.

oddly enough, i have a love hate relationship with parties. i love the music and i love spinning but i am not a big fan of the chaos in the clubs because it really is more of a meat market than a music appreciation gathering - at least in most palces it is. usually after a giig, i try and high tail it out of there for peace and quiet elsewhere.

Sino/alin yung walang utak? Yung "PC DJs", yung event organizers na closed minded, or the audience that doesn't care? Sorry this thread is starting to get confusing, not sure who's responding to what.

On another note, NI's Audio 8 DJ suite is looking pretty impressive, considering its price point. Ok din naman reviews. Very tempting at my budget.

Anyone with hands-on experience using it with Traktor Scratch 3? Does it give SSL a run for its money?

Looks like Stanton FS's future is getting bleaker and bleaker since the split from NI.

Does The Music Source give good support for NI products?

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss other equipment. I read about some DJs who perform live with keyboards.

That looks like a Nord Electro, btw.

Open your mind a little, dualcoil. There's more out there than you probably know.

Now can somebody please pass the popcorn?
