dencio, put a top on that basswood body then have the top rerouted so it can do direct mounted pickups, how about a kamagong top with a semi trans blue finish? i'd look awesome

Trans blue on Ebony top Bry? I don't know if the blue would show.. probably very very dark blue. I guess stripped ebony would workthough. I'm sure that would be killer!  :-) Pics! Pics!

true, but not all kamagong will be really dark, if one could fine a really light and figured one like this..

it should be nice with a light blue stain,

kamagong is sexy... lol

if you could put the top and either stain the top and the body and leave the tops' side w/ natural finish like my rg2020x(pic below isnt mine)

or have the body stained with dark brown(think prs below)

as much as i would like a 1pc kamagong neck i just talked to a luthier in cebu and he doesnt feel comfortable in using it as a 1 pc neck since it moves too much, fretboard and tops its fine,

but as a top, i wouldnt know yet, but the lutheir explained that as a thin top 3-4mm it should add a good focused lows..

Nice! That's perfect for metal!

The luthier in Cebu might want to reconsider that. Even Ed Roman loves using Ebony on necks.

He uses Macassar Ebony though. I don't know how similar that is to our local Kamagong but it's certainly worth a shot.

two different wood species though, but im really pursuing that.. as of now im ok that he said with an all rosewood neck and fretboard or cocobolo(not sure yet, im highly allergic,is fine when its done but its not cool when you start cleaning up the fretboard with steel wool)
