afaik, abs-cbn was supposed to start digital broadcasting early 2008. pero naudlot haha. they're aiming to be the first local station to utilize digital broadcasting here. based on research, they're supposed to implement it by the end of the year. goodluck nalang sa kanila.

trivia: based also on my research (since this is my thesis right now), abs-cbn was the first to implement colored broadcasting here in the philippines.

nagulat ako nagcommunity survey kami sa may malabon sobrang liliit ng mga bahay pero mabibigla ka kasi yung tv nila samsung na widescreen yung iba naman sony bravia 32inch maniwala kayo o hindi kaya iraos ng pinoy ang mga TV nila... makasabay lang sa uso, except lang sa mga matitipid talaga a mga nakatira sa kalsada.

sa hirap ng buhay ngayon di pwedeng wala ka widescreen sa bahay. Ang mahal na kaya manood sine!

hahaha, oo nga eh sa bahay ka na lang manood imbes na sa sine basta member ka ng video city.

yung kaklase ko di ganun kapera, maliit lang din bahay pero naafford nila bumili ng home theater at lcd 24 months to pay sa bangko. hehehe. makanood lang sa LCD kahit di malinaw channel nila kasi jumper lang sila sa cable nanunuod parin sila sa LCD> yung tv ata yung pinapanuod nila lagi hindi yung palabas eh.

liit yan pag buong family nyo manonood...plus HD ready, mejo sayang kasi most lcd tvs today are equipped with either 720p or 1080p HD...

thanks mga sirs!! i won't bother buying that 22" tv anymore.. magpapadala naman pala yung pinsan ko next year ng mas malaki..tyaga tyaga na lang muna ko hehe.. just for a refresher, which is a better scanning sequence, a 1080i or 720p? (i already forgot my broadcasting lectures!)

another question po.. i asked my former prof in broadcasting if it is still okay to buy a crt tv nowadays because of the development of DTV, he said that if i have extra money, he recommends that I buy LCD tv, of course depending on size and resolution.. does that mean that it is not advisable to buy a smaller size tv(22" below)?

ganito yan, yung size ng tv nyo eh relative dun sa pinapanood nyo. example. pag ang video eh hindi 16:9 nung kinuha, it will not render correctly on your tv, unless you have a 100" LCD tv, then go for it.

My sister got a 42" my 37" renders the video better. Lalo na pag Widescreen. Sa 42" lumalapad yung mga tao. I think it would be better if she got the 46".
