yeah, the sole reason why i got interested in violin-like sweeps, loved Alay, and the off-beat, ahm, beat
measure pala. or something like that.
wish Imago could sound the way they used to. *sigh*
and wasnt it PMBMD, Probably Maybe But Most Definitely?
no, it's Probably Not But Most Definitely.
imago kasi adopts a totally different sound with each album. pnbmd was more ethnic-flavored, with violin as lead accompaniment. take2 has a straight rock base. blush, very girlie pop-ish.
i heard they'll revert back to more of the take2 sound with the upcoming album.
yung pnbmd yung pinakagusto ko. it really knows what it wants to sound like, the solos (both the violin and guitar) are fresh-sounding, tsaka walang sapaw sa instruments.

have you guys noticed that the pinoy 'baduy labsongs' more often feature the heavy solos? a lot are forgettable, but when they work, they pack an incredible wallop. (as in seriously, hanggang ngayon sobrang recognizable pa rin yung solo ni paul sapiera sa parting time).
i think the best solos are the ones that can convey the desired emotion extremely effectively, tsaka may recall power. tignan nyo lahat ng paulit-ulit na entries sa thread na to.
my contribution, para maiba naman nang kaunti:
the acoustic solo from The Dawn's Talaga Naman.
