On topic:

I'm after this one for the neck:
http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/humbucker/progressive/sh2_jazz_model/

And for the bridge:
http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/humbucker/progressive/sh4_jb_model/

Ano difference ng trembucker sa sh?  :?
Ang SH ay mode name nung humbucker line AFAIK. Trembucker pups ay iba ang spacing sa regular HB mas malaki sya ng onti para maaccomodate yung high e string sa trem equipped guitars.

my bridge pup is way too bright for my taste...very trebly to the point of becoming shrill already.  i'm looking for a good replacement and i'm eyeing a rails-type HB pup.  i'm looking for a high-output bridge pup that is still bright but fat-sounding and can be used for solos.  i hardly use my current bridge pup for anything now.

but before i can decide, i just need to ask some questions from the experts:

1.  if i lower the pup height of the bridge pup, will it lessen the treble/shrill response of the pup?
2.  are there specific requirements when i'm replacing only one pup (in this case bridge) in terms of compatibility with the other pups?  or can i just slap in a replacement without considering the other pups?

thanks in advance!  :-)

1. It can be..  :-)
2. consider the output (it might overpower the other 2 in terms of volume)

Kapatid, sinagot na ito ng OP sa first page.

compilation sana ng personal reviews sa products ng pickup brands like DIMARZIO, GFS, SEYMOUR DUNCAN, LACE SENSOR and OTHERS.

so people could use this thread as a basis on deciding what pickups to get for their guitar (like me) :-D

Just a short review on teh Guitarheads Hexbuckers....

For $40......It will rock your world! Neck pick up is crystal clear on cleans but when drived, is still oh so well defined! Bridge pickup hindi din mag papahuli, to me it sounds balanced, not too bassy, and not too trebly (not to mention you can adjust the poles on the PUPS). On cleans I don't know what to say really because there's not much that I can significance I can hear, but when on drive it's a different story! Before, when I used the stocks and the gibsons, I could not do this: hammer on - bend on the 12th fret and above, because when I go to the bend parang biglang napapaos ung tunog. Nawawala bigla! Pero now on these babies, I can do those techniques without worry na mabibitin ako bigla. Don't be fooled by it's high output being, because it CAN take you to a lot of places! I don't know how these hexbuckers compare to DMZ's or SD's but I tell you guys... My cheap RG321MH na akala ko wala ng pag asa eh nabigyang buhay. For $40 or php2000 pesos wala kang talo. It can whisper and growl in your face at your command.

Thanks for introducing these Sir BryanArzaga.

pickups currently installed on my guitars
seymour duncan jb model - hi output bright sounding, punchy. it's good for recording hi gain guitar sounds. sounds ok for live application. good for metal.
seymour duncan 59's - i have these on my nuno bettencourt signature washburns. sound pretty good.
seymour duncan alnico ii pros - low/medium output. good for classic rock tones.
seymour duncan custom custom - somewhat similar to the jb model.
seymour duncan dimebuckers - hi output. thin when used for clean tones. very good for heavy distortion.
seymour duncan jazz models - similar to the 59 but with more bass.
seymour duncan pearly gates - similar to 59s but with more treble.
seymour duncan screaming demon - this is one of a hell of a pickup. good for clean and dirty tones. you can distinguish notes from chords with a distorted sound
seymour duncan classic stack - low output hum free single coil. i always use this as a middle pickup on ibanez guitars.
seymour duncan hot rails - single coil size with a power of a humbucker.
dimarzio evo - vai. nuff said
dimarzio paf pro - similar to sd '59s but with a little more output.
dimarzio air zone - similar to the 59
dimarzio yjm - very low output. sounds amazing with clean tone.
dimarzio hs-2 - another low output pickup
dimarzio hs-3 - another low output pickup, a little more power over the yjms

my used to have
seymour duncan parallel axis trembucker (blues saraceno) - somewhat similar to the screaming demon.
dimarzio breed - paf pro like. with more bass. too bassy for mahogany body guitars
dimarzio tonezone - it's like a 59 with more highs

Sayang bro meron ako nito dati na benta ko na. Pero marami naman biglang nagsusulputan niyan sa classifieds. Mukhang babagay sayo ang SD JB matalas ang tunog na kumakapal sa distortion tapos in your face!!!
