I was in the market for a few studio stuffs (and referencing US prices vs local prices) so I stopped by at www.musiciansfriend.com

Men ! The prices are crazy ! Doorwrecker mode pa din sila. Like MXL990s with shockmount, 60 dollars. Art MP tube pre, 30 dollars. Parang fire sale ah. I'm gonna load up my debit card with some cash and do some shopping !

Recession mode pa din sila ? Might be a good time to buy. For those who still have the cash that is.

My Unionbank EON card is the card i use for Paypal, and is also the same card I use to buy downloadable software and stuff.

So I guess, yes, at least in my case. I used to own an Equitable visa debit card and that one was for local use only. Heck, it isn't even accepted everywhere, wala silang pang-swipe.

But the Unionbank EON behaves just like an international credit card

I purchased a drum item in musiciansfriend.com through pobox.ph.

An item that costs P12,000 here was only worth P8,000 pag umorder doon. Kasama na shipping and handling.

Kung wala kang credit card, ganito ang proseso ng ordering sa musiciansfriend c/o pobox.ph. Cash deposit sa Unionbank or Banco de Oro ang payment, pwede in dollars or pesos.

1. Register ka sa pobox.ph

2. I-mark mo ang URL ng item na gusto mong item.

3. Bibilhin ng pobox.ph ang item mo (musiciansfriend.com price + 5% of item price for pobox.ph)

4. Ipapadala ng pobox.ph ang item na gusto mo sa California warehouse nila.

5. Babayaran mo ang shipping ng item mo. May specific price per box size.

6. Ipapadala nila ang item mo.

hmm.. mukang ok toh ah.. pwede ko rin siguro gawin toh coz my father is residing in calif.. at sa US ko rin binibili mga gamit ko kaya mostly 110v.. in fact my shipment ako ngayon darating ng march 1..

now i'm wondering kung pano ako makakabuild ng trust sa mga forumers dito para makatipid din ako sa shipping at the same time kumita naman ng onti.. hehe..

Mas malufet yung consolidator na gamit ko (old schoolmate ni vjoe)... HE buys my stuff (advances payment) and I only pay upon pick up of item! I just wish they shipped to my door thoug.

Otherwise, similar ang fees and arrangement. But I'll bookmark yang pobox.ph -- kung sakali meron na ako internationally accepted credit card. Ayaw nila sa HSBC and Citibank ko kasi Philippine billing address.

Yeah, I saw nga but my consolidator doesn't ask you to pay until pick-up in Manila! I've also had him go on waiting lists for boutique or very new products.

I emailed pobox.ph to ask when they actually ask you to pay for the items bought. It'd be nice to try them as they do deliver directly to your door (vs. pick-up).

hindi naman...

ok lang sakin ang 5% na additional cut nila. basta mura parin lalabas ang magiging shipping charge nila compared sa direct shipping ng website.

klaro ko lang, pinapadala na ba nila agad yung item sa pinas once na nasa Calif. warehouse na yun? naiisip ko kasi na baka may specific volume/order muna sila na kailangang punuin bago sila mag-ship. inquire na lang ako. kung ok yan, hmm....

nagtanong ako kung magkano in pesos babayaran ko kung magpapabili ako sa kanila ng krk rp5 gen1 sa musiciansfriend.com...ambilis nila magreply haha... inestimate nila..mga 13k+ lang kasama na shipping dun...pero iniisip ko... na wag na lang din kasi konti na lang..prang makakabili na din ako ng gen2 nun dito... hehe

Me also, i use UB-EON...make sure you have enough funds coz its not a CREDIT CARD...

example, kung USD 198 yung pair e di 9.9k yun sa Php with the 5%. ...
so mga 3-4k yung shipping. medyo na-gets ko na.
pwede na rin kung di talaga available locally .

Pinapadala nila agad once na nabayaran mo na yung shipping, pero pwede mo ipa-hold sa warehouse nila kung meron ka pa gusto ipasabay kasama sa box mo.
