The SLX is the last non diode-clipping Marshall ever made.  Another one from the 900 era is the MKIII which is not very common here.  Richie Kotzen likes the SLX amps.

Wrong. Marshall is still using an all tube signal path for their amps. The dsl and tsl jcm 2000s are non diode just like the slx, even the new jvms and vintage modern amps are all tube

I wasn't able to watch the Mr. Big concert but thanks to YT and HD cameras I was still be able to see them. PG's sound is a bit brighter this time comparing his sound way back when I watched them perform at FAT, I think that was 1996. His sound was a bit muffled then.

Its the budget man. Maroon 5's ticks were about 15k for the Patron vs Mrbigs 3800... if the business case is there.. the sound system will be there.

Yup... but Araneta charged me for Patron at P13k per ticket for Taylor Swift who only performed for 90 minutes.  I had to pay for two.  And Araneta was at 100% capacity!

3) Mr. Big -- I loved everything except Paul Gilbert's sound.  Since Paul first came out, I never really though of him as having the best tone but this is his worst.  Clearly the single coils lacked the midrange punch to cut thru Billy Sheehan.  Paul sounded beautiful only when the rest of the band was quiet.  But with the band on, its as if his guitar disappeard.  You could only hear the attack of the single coils and nothing else as if there were no notes from his fingerboard.  Actually, you could only hear him on the higher register but since he applied distortion on single coils -- his highs were harsh -- clearly bad single coil and bad distortion design.  In a sense you can understand why he has his phaser/flanger slightly on.  He needed to thicken his single coils. 

Paul doesn't have the best tone. But his tone is pretty good when given his VMs. He sounded better with DSLs in 2009 than with the DRs in Araneta.

But with all his endorsements, I can hardly blame him for having to struggle which such inferior equipment -- i guess he needs the extra bucks for his family.  Sinubukan na lang niya idaan sa timpla pero hindi talaga kaya.

Marshall doesn't pay him anything. Ibanez probably does, but those Firemans are in no way inferior to anything. Different, but not inferior.

4) Mr. Araneta should improve his P.A. and add more speakers.... They are weak and they distort when the whole band level is up.  I have noticed this during the STP concert and nothing was done.  It was quite obvious that the P.A. could not keep up with Billy's bass solo because the whole P.A. started to distort and could not keep up with Billy's attack.  I also partly blame the P.A. for not being able to reproduce Paul's sound in the band mix.  A better PA would give Paul's single coils a better chance in the mix.

Not sure if Araneta is at fault. But the NiN concert sounded good. They should hire those who did Journey's gig.

tingin ko talaga hindi rin ok yung tech ng mr.big sa araneta at balita ko mga pinoy daw yung nag tech sa mr.big dito sa araneta hehe  parang medyo may communication error sila hehe correct me if i;m wrong. simpleng patayin lang yung ilaw or i dim yung ilaw after each song na sinabi na mismo ni eric martin on stage hindi pa magawa   nag mukha talagang [chewbacca] yung in charge sa lights dito sa scene na to kung sino man siya hehe

isa pa technically alam nating lahat mas magaling ang mr.big pag skills ang pinag usapan compared sa nine inch nails (except drummers i think ilan rubin currently 21 yrs old is better than pat torpey) pero nine inch nails na nagdala ng sarili nilang tech at taga manage ng lights nila sounded  better in araneta than mr.big

medyo may parts talaga na maririnig na basag yung tunog ng bass ni sheehan na parang masisira na yung speakers.

pero ok parin yung concert masaya sila panoorin masaya nako nakita ko in person si PG hehe dream come true and mr.big is still my fave band!
