for all-around duty (strumming / shred):
Ibanez Steve Vai's (1.0mm) - just the right firmness (spaghetti??), plus, it's still pointy like the Jazz III

kaso mahal ng Vai (P50 each ) kaya balik ako sa Dunlop Jazz III black or Standard size Dunlop Tortex 1.14 (violet), pwede din ung blue (1.0mm)

anyone remembers those 8-peso Alice "zodiac sign" picks? :-D ayos yung 1.5mm nun!
San ba nakakabli nung Vai na pick?

i want to have two separate picks...one for lead and one for rhythm.  i'm having a hard time strumming with the jazz picks.  problem is, where to put the pickholder in my strat.

I see some fellow guitarist stick it on the strap near the left shoulder, cause they don't want to ruin the finish of their guitar. :-)

good thing you mentioned that. I never really observed how quickly it gets worn down but seems ok so far.

I like to use Tortexes because they don't slip. The thick black ones, hindi ko mabasa yung gauge nabura na hehe. Meron pa ako isang Dunlop na may Rhino na kulay yellow na pick. I've used cheap picks in the past pero madulas siya kapag nagpawis na kamay ko.

i have used a Fender pick before, the ones sold in perfect pitch (heart-shaped) same feel to a dunlop tortex.
now im using a dunlop tortex 1.14mm, the purple one. dunlop pick guages are color-coded. it has a nice grip and feel and wont slip your sweaty hands. very nice guitar picks!
what comes around goes around.
