well usual practice sa Pinas is still a common amp for everyone Sir 

usually in small gigs, everyone borrows around each other. Not bad, magkabarkada rin lang naman lahat.

pero it's still best to haul your own gear di ba? 

same here. the gig scene is small and everyone knows everyone else but it is common courtesy and your responsibility to practice, bring and gig with your own equipment - even if everyone knows everyone else. but in extreme cases when fellow musicians tour, stuff gets stolen and sometimes your gear doesn't arrive at the airport the same time you do so we lend each other gear in such a case because cancelling a gig during a tour, no matter how small, makes you lose out on the payout after the night is done. that is even worse than missing a gig completely because that cash can help you eat a decent meal for the rest of the tour. i remember back in the day, sevendust had just started out and were supporting their record while they were still signed to TNT and they didn't have their gear with them after flying in from NY so they had to borrow everything for the gig and everyone pitched in to help from the gig roster that night. i remember the show went really well. nice guys too.

I agree. Sana may discipline and manners ang mga pinoy pagdating sa pagbabanda. Dami kong experience back in college pero I was the one who borrowed--only from friends. Nahihiya ako kung di ko kilala yung tao. Now, after saving for my gear, I am the one lending gear to friends but I encourage them to work hard for their gear if they are truly passionate about guitars and music. It builds self respect kasi.

steve vai, andy timmons, van halen --- papahiram ko pero papa autograph ko na din. di natin alam baka nanakaw lahat ng guitars nya or nasakay sa maling van sa sobrang dami.

true. yun ang parte sa punto ko. i don't like it na i end up inconveniencing other people for MY shortcomings by not being considerate with providing my own gear. if i play MY music, i'd better have my own gear as well - it is only right.

Sa totoo lang. Buwiset ang mga nanghihiram sa gig. Ok lang kung nasira yung gitara niya, or naputulan ng string tapos walang spare string. Pero kung talagang walang gamit at effects, ay wag na. Mawiwili lang yun. Seryoso, magbabanda banda tapos wala namang gamit. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang, pero that's just the way it is. If you want to be respected, bring your own rig.
