I'm not sure if this was discussed before.
I went to megamall earlier to inspect the super vintage. After some scrutiny and questioning, apparently, it has different specifications that can be customized.
1. pickup types. There are three pickup types. According to the sales guy, they differ in output, and that some are alnico, and some are ceramic. I didn't get to speak to a technician, but these are my guesses:
"standard" = low/mid output alnico
"blues juice" = high output alnico
"hot rock" = high output ceramic
2. neck joint. There was an assembly line of unfinished super vintages. I see that several are set neck, while most are bolt on.
Then according to the sales guy, with the same price, the buyer can choose to customize the guitar based on any pickup combination.
Based on one of the guitars in the store, I think that the black super vintage RJ used in the video was a bolt-on with "blues juice" pickups.
I was surprised to find out this bit of information, and puzzled that RJ's marketing team did not capitalize on it... not on the youtube video, the newspaper article, nor event the website.
Suddenly, a white set neck with low output alnicos on the neck ans mid, and high output alnicos on the bridge seems attractive to me.
Disclaimer: I'm not under RJ's payroll. I just happened to scrutinize the guitar earlier.
