from experience, any camera with 3MP below, can't really get you good pics. You can't print them out bigger than 3x5 pictures. ang mga 4-6MP cameras can get you 4x6 prints that are OK but you can't print them bigger. 8-12MP cameras can get you 8x10's pretty good pero wouldn't you rather have a film SLR that can let you billboard size each pic?

mas matipid po ang dslr kase pag kumuha ka ng pictures alam mo na yung kalalabasan ng settings mo...hindi kna mg iisip kung anu kalalabasan saka lahat ng shot sigurado...madali ka mag experiment sa settings kase wala kang sinasayang di gaya sa slr minsan may nakukuha kang magandang shot tapos madidisappoint ka pa pag di nabuo..sayang

saka madali ng mag adjust ng ISO level sa dslr...sa slr you have to buy the film with that specific ISO....400s arent cheap... and you do it need it for "action" photography like sports or birdwatching..

woooo!! mabuhay ang mga film-slr users hehe.. na iilang kasi ako isipin na mag photowalk ka using digicam, sorry pero eto pananaw ko parang ang girly ng dating ko nun.ang laking tao ko digicam gamit ko sa photowalk... pag tsagaan ko na nga film slr ni papa LOL

yes films are the best in print quality but films are effin expensive. the advantage of digital slrs outweigh the disadvantages. more features and options, films are replaced by sd cards

i meant sa phone cams.. hehehe I took some of my best shots with my nokia 6230i dati, but then i realized that i can't print them out to make posters out of them. thats why i'm mastering film. pero until then pinagiipunan ko pa yung 30d na nakita ko na second hand.. woohooo!

Film bodies are cheap but films/slides are still expensive. Film developing and scanning is additional
cost as well. if you do the math  compute for the number of  film used per month x cost ( normally its 3 to 5 rolls per month)
+ cost of scanning you will end up with the cost of one DSLR body in one years time. Lalo na if you used the Tri-x, illfords, superia, provia, etc. THose cool slide film.

If you plan to shoot and be a hobbyist go digital... but if your to meticoulos about color, contrast. GO Film. Print size is not an issue if you dont shoot professionally.

Sometimes we forget to consider if my camera is AUTO FOCUS or not... Is it is capable of using ASA1600 Films. which is
an additional advantage for DSLR USER. no need to buy those rare and expensvie asa1600 or push 800 films to 1600s to
shoot lowlight concert. MOst cam bodies can shoot at ISO1600 and would have AUTO FOCUS lens.

dame ko na sinabe.. m just sharing.. SLR or DSLR... I would really love to have both. 
DIGITAL for my pro work. FILM for my personal/creative projects...

salamat sa share!  hindi naman sa gagawin ko na tong profession, hobby oo..sarap kasi mag shoot kaso sa situation ko student pa lang kaya medyo nahihinto na pag shoot ko dahil nga imbes na bili ako ng film at ipa scan ko, iniipon ko na lang for D40 (yun ata kasi pinaka mura sa lahat ng DSLR) in 1 year siguro na tiis maka bili na ako..

use bulb "B", may tripod.. keep it open , dark room plus flash light ..then mag sulat ng name.. hehe..di lang po ako sure if effective sa film-slr

Canon AE - 1 Program Film SLR user here!!! I must say it creates great photos, if not the best. I love Film SLR's. The quality of the photo is marvelous plus the image wont get pixelized even how much you zoom it. (I think) It also challenges the user (photographer) to practice his skills on settings of the camera (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, lighting). I have nothing against DSLR's, Im planning to buy my own, but Ill never stop using my film because in my opinion, film SLR outputs are more breath-taking rather that DSLR images. so... GO FILM USERS!!!

Magastos nga lang sa film, pero worth it pag nakita mo shots mo tpos magaganda. It gives excitement pag shoot ka lang ng shoot tapos di mo alam ang output right on the spot, hindi ka magsasawa maging photographer ksi na-eexcite ka..

anyway, sir, ano ba mas magastos, yung ipa develop/convert sa mga store/shop  or  ikaw mismo ang mag develop sa dark room? and pano ba yun ginagawa?
