You're welcome donard.

I just thought of something. Maybe they can sound better in some ways especially because they have more functions. But I dare them to show me a HIGH GAIN TONE.

Maybe in a pop-alternative or church band, cascaded multieffect pedals would not show any problem but if you put GAIN in the picture, that's where they'll falter.

They'll have noise for one, then compensate with gates and my guess it they'll sound.... "fake".

pwede magsama ang aesthetics and function (tone) depende

personal preference pa rin... tingin mo gwapo board n'ya compare s'yo? dahil madaming pedals at multi? s'kin walang dating yun haha

magkaiba kasi tayo preference

As most forumites says: What works for you  :-D

Boutique pedals, compact pedals, humongous stomps, if it works for you and gives you that tone you prefer, then it doesn't matter.

Hence even routing of pedals doesn't have a strict configuration.

Donard,

I would say: "Less is More".

But seriously, don't get bothered.  I have more boutique stuff than  you and probably have pedals that alone are the price of your whole setup and pedals that will beat the crap out of multi FX units but I DON'T GET TO USE them.  Just too many stuff around.  And worse, these things need severe matching to really get the best out of them.

So unless he is using an AXE FX pedal board, tell him he uses crap and if he asks who says his stuff his crap, refer him to me.
