eto na sir champoi, kahapon ko pa sana po post ito, bigla kasing nagpatawag ng practis para sa aniv ng church... tapos b-day party pa ng anak ng former pastor ko...
eto na...

The first set was kinda "hilaw" ( fm a music critic's point of view ), the sound system was disappointing, the house speakers was muffled, if you’re not familiar w/ the lyrics of the song, then you won't understand what they're singing...
I guess that the first two songs was an adjustment period for the sound engineer... it was only on the 3rd song "King of Majesty" that you can hear the drums & the bass guitar clearly, there was a guitar solo... he was playing a Strat,( thus the "thin/glassy" single coil tone)... as for the other guitar player, I couldn't really hear him. ( baka hindi naka house yung Amp niya )
the lead vocalist was really energetic, but sometimes was grasping for breath & was kinda off key... so was w/ the back up singers... I guess this team was not the "main" Sonicflood band, parang understudy lang sila or something like that... again, I might be wrong, but what's important is that they are doing this for the glory of God & that's what really matters...
there was this Fil/Am dude who testified during the break... mga 20m din yun... the crowd was getting bored bcoz the audio really sucks at that point... you really need to listen closely to understand what he's saying... 90% of the crowd are youth, I guess all they really came for is to hear "open the eyes"...
Ganun kalayo! the crowd went wild w/ "I want to know you"... galing ng bahista, parang si Billy Sheehan sa showmanship. I lost count of how many songs they did… what was really striking for me was Rick Heil’s testimony. It was so touching how he found the Lord…
He was diagnosed w/ colon cancer when he was still young, he had a series of operations & the doctors took out something like 8 feet of his intestines t& he had to be fed on tube w/c was really painful that he was thinking of committing suicide…
His life changed when he hanged out w/ some
“Jesus Freaks”, went to church w/ them, and made a prayer of acceptance that changed the direction of his life. He sang “Above All” & it was so emotional that crowd was in tears praying and lifting their arms… Rick made an altar call, he and the bass player went down the stage to pray for the people who responded to the altar call… the keyboardist segued “heart of worship” w/ “above all”… when Rick got back on the stage he read some phrases fm the book of Psalms it was so awesome how they improvise fm whatever leading they have… ( I think they don’t follow any line up coz Rick just tells the keyboardist what’s the next tune is…)
The guitar player did some solos, nothing amazing… ( no sweep arpeggios, no harmonic minors, tappings, dive bombs or any flashy tricks ),
& that’s really great coz I’m sick & tired of Yngwie/Pettrucci & Vai wanna be's[/i]…he played his heart out, got a great tone fm. his Black Beauty Les Paul. ( iba talaga tunog nung Humbuckers pag live)! Galing din sa Showmanship yung keyboardist… Performance level talaga!
They did 3 or more rock tunes before doin’ “ open the eyes “ w/c again made the crowd jump up & down. YUMANIG ang Araneta coliseum. Just when the crowd thought that it was the last song, Sonicflood did 2 more numbers. Grave energy nila! Finished the set w/ an acapella of “I Love You Lord”…
