i think you are referring to the schwa (shwa) sound - the a and e back-to-back. hmmm, alt+numeric keypad lang katapat nyan, sa tyaga mahahanap din hehe.
EDIT: yung Neutrik connectors i heard from a vid presentation is pronounced "NOY-trik" something, not NYUT-rik. i think it's because it's German IMO.
actually it's not the schwa.. the schwa is the unstressed vowel sound in English symbolized by the inverted 'e'... e.g. about - syllabicated (a-bout) wherein the first syllable takes on the schwa sound... the schwa is often used with unstressed words or more commonly called function words which includes the prepositions, conjunctions, and other parts of speech that usually is not stressed in an English sentence...
the combined a+e symbol that s.i.m.a is talking about refers to the common 'twang' sound in English... e.g. advil - syllabicated (ad-vil) wherein the vowel sound in the first syllable takes on that sound... other examples are 'bat, cat, hat, mad, angry, land'...
