AXIS PERCUSSION Products Thread
« on: September 24, 2009, 02:37:16 PM »
I decided to create this thread for all those concerned with Axis Products.
I can give information about some products (Bass Drum Pedals)

Our local Axis distributor is sir Vinci
you can browse his site http://www.thedrumshopmanila.com/axis.html

He is more than willing to help you decide on these products, he's a kind friend you'll handle business transactions with ease.

I hope my long lost brothers should post in this thread because I believe there are some Axis users lurking there silently

super nice thread... sir kakabili me lang ng axis long boards AL2 kay sir vinci last 2 weeks.. hirap po me mag set-up... lalo na ung pag pantay ng feel ng slave pedal with the master pedal... prang mas magaang lagi ung sa master pedal... any solution with this... nkakapraning... hehehe... help nmn po sir... tnx... if its ok pa send nmn po cp# nyo... salamat po...

Congrats sir sa pag purchase mo ng AL-2!!!

Now here's a basic info about the AL-2

1.) Main pedal has the heavy duty spring while the slave pedal has the normal spring

Now here's my solution for your problem.

Refer ka sa guide/ pdf (website) ng Axis pedal.

It's either you set the tension of the spring to the fullest or somewhere near there kung saan ka comfortable para ma compensate mo yung spring difference or basically order Heavy duty springs.
Now here's my guide on setting up the double pedal.

Make sure both VDL (Variable Drive Lever) have the exact setting.

Kabit mo muna yung UDS (Universal Drive Shaft) to your desired length/ distance for your feet

Next is tingnan mo yung angle ng parehong foot board, ideal angle ng slave pedal yung nasa main pedal so adjust mo yung nasa slave by setting up your VDL,  tatlong allen screws diyan na naka triangle formation luwagan mo muna to. Tilt the shaft   hanggang makuha mo yung angle ng main pedal, usually pag nakuha mo na yung angle ng main, yung beater ng slave ay di naka angle sa main, if this happens luwagan mo yung beater angle na screw and set the beater angle back hanggang magaya yung same angle ng main or mediyo mas palayo ng onti sa bass drum head compared sa main angle para mas magkaroon pa ng onting tension yung slave pedal.

I suggest mag pa order ka ng heavy duty spring para ma even out mo tension ng springs, and purchasing toe risers para ma palitan ang angle ng footboard to have that more steep feel ng pedal.

( E D I T )

hehe pahabol, since AL-2 gamit mo kung sonic hammers gamit mong beaters make sure exact settings rin to, angle and distance hehe...

I highly recommend TAMA Felt or Rubber Iron Cobra beaters for the AXIS!!!

Yes sir empire basta AL-2 yun ang setup nila, ang difference pag AL is heavy duty springs main pedal..

Pag shortboard naman kinuha dalawang regular springs lang to hehe..

Nakita ko yung longboard custom mo machine shop style hehe nice replica sir

@drewmit

Hi sir, you can't go wrong with any axis pedals mapa A or X yan, but I suggest that you purchase the A nalang.

The X series kasi has no VDL (Variable Drive Shaft) which means naka fix lang ang footboard angle and dependent ito sa beater angle.

The A series however gives that custom/ adjustable feel dahil sa VDL  :-)

Onting price differential nalang yan, worth the extra buck  8-)

yung akin ba? thanks. pero Mr. Paul Magat gets the credit for that dahil siya ang gumawa nun.

2 naiisip kong paraan diyan.

1.) Check the screw at yung butas kung loosethreaded na

2.) If screw is threaded replace the screw, refer to a machineshop

3.) If hole is loosethread it's either you cut a small portion of rubber from doormat or anong rubber material na yan lagay niyo sa loob yung rubber tapos saka mo screw

4.) Eto risky solution kaso naka solve naman sa problem ng ibang tao, remove the heel block tapos i bake mo sa oven 350F for 10 minutes tapos saka mo screw to

5.) If gumana number 4 tapos nawala, loctite na solution mo

oks. thanks sa tip. unfortunately, i sold the pedals long ago. naitanong ko lang para kung sakaling ma-encounter ko yung same problem sa pedals ko ngayon, alam ko na yung effective solution. usually yun lang ang nagiging problema ko sa pedal. WD40 ba pang maintain mo nyan or yung lithium grease? or yung special lubricant para sa skateboard bearings? hehe

I suggest lithium grease highly recommended to, never use WD40 kasi it washes away the lubricants (Oil, grease)

Wala naman ako masabi sa lithium grease although paubos na yung binigay sakin ng dad ko hehe, that lubricant for bearings sounds a good option too.

Basta wag WD40 ha hehe
