I used to think that old guitars are generally better guitars than their newer counterparts.
Now, it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day, it still boils down to these important traits... good acoustic tonewoods, good craftsmanship, reliability, versatility and inspiration factor.
this!! though honestly i lean more into used guitars in general mainly because often it's easier to find these qualities on 2nd hand guitars,
-better wood=aged na kasi
-good craftsmanship= already set up by a luthier
-playability= upgrades
-reliability= well 50/50 on this pala same lang sa bnew iterms of risk siguro basta marunong ka tumingin siguro maiiwasan mo sablay
BUT i feel like it's not really right to limit yourself self when looking for a guitar, hasty generalization wont get you anywhere i'm sure there are gems also sa brandnew, with everything naman it boils down to luck
for example during my just recent search for a main guitar i searched high and low, sandamakmak na atang stores napuntahan ko, and kung saan saan na ako na padpad in testing 2nd hand guitars naman!! i found good and bad ones in both , like this bnew ltd elc that i tested in lyric cubao, i know dont if it's the good folks on the shop (unlike yupangco, sungit haha) but the guitar really sounded great to me and it fit me like a glove compared to most 2nd hands i already tested pero ayaw ko man i limit sarili ko but 50k is way off my budget
well i guess in general its another advantage of 2nd hands mas mura!
what im trying to say is dont let yourself be boxed into either, if your looking for a guitar and you have time why not try both old and new; give yourself a chance you might be pleasantly surprised
