most people think that DMZ PAF pros and Breeds are PAFs when in fact they're not PAF-type pickups. they're pickups designed to simulate the PAF's characteristics on a superstrat basswood guitars. I'm not sure about their virtual series though, but i've heard they're great.
A do-it-all PAF-typel, i would guess are the SD 59s and PGs, and Gibson Burstbuckers and 57 classics.
Seths and Antiquities, as great as they are, might have problems with microphonic feedbacks on high gain applications because they're not wax potted. but they're probably the closest things to the real PAF.
i still say, go for a SD 59 set!
(if you want something more expensive, get the Gibson 57 classic/classic plus)
