if the Valvetronix was the one that has an 8" speaker, para pareho lang silang lahat ng liga, i'd ditch my Pathfinder to get that..  :-)

pero sa lahat ata niya, pinakamahal na yung Valvetronix.. ang pinakamura ay yung PF.. so kung tight budget, go PF.. pero if you have money to spend on a small amp, and you only have the three of them as your only choices, dun na ako sa Valvetronix.  :-)

Cub8 is a tube amp right?
id go for that.
it beats all those amps you mentioned.
cuz its a tube amp! Id save a little more and go for the cub10 like kurtcobainer said.

have you tried the PF sir? baka mahirapan kayo i-differentiate ang cub8 sa PF pag nag blind test kayo  :-)

On topic: PF - takes pedals good, cub8 - lighter than PF (in my opinion, tried lifting it in JB) and also takes pedals well. the valvetronix is a modelling, amp, but with a tube preamp if im not mistaken, i got the AD version, it does not take pedals that good, namimili

we have different ears imho. nothing beats the warmness of a true tube amp, though the PF isnt a bad choice either.
But for the money and having the chance to own a tube amp id go for the cub series.

3 different amps...one is a solid state, one is a modelling amp with a power amp tube, and the other one is an all tube amp.

It would depend on what you need. You want something that could take pedals well? I'd go for the Pathfinder and the Cub 8. For bedroom use, I haven't turned the Pathfinder's volume control past 12oclock. Tingin ko mas malakas yung Cub 8 in terms of volume.

If you need the amp/effect models, go for the Vox Valvetronix. Or maybe consider a Roland Cube. They're really good sounding amps.

The best thing to do would be to try them all. Kasi it would be a bit subjective dahil iba iba silang klase ng amps. If were talking about Marshall MG15 versus Vox Pathfinder, the Vox wins handsdown.

Pero sa akin, since i don't need modeling, I'll go for the Pathfinder. But if I got a bit more cash, I'd go for the Cub 10.  :-)

ok when you say versatile amp... meaning you won't depend too much on pedals?
then its clear that you NEED the valvetronix.

otherwise, stay away from valvetronix, then choose either cub8 or PF. just like ninmei said, let your ears decide.

no, when i say versatile, i mean i can play many different genres and style... like metal, rock, blues, jazz, classical, etc...

i agree.. pero syempre, if metal ang hanap mo.. don't expect much sa built-in distortion ng mga yan.. maliliit lang yan eh.. either you get a metal pedal or you get a metal pedal.. hehe.. no choice..

I'm a great fan of amp sims! Like the valvetronix for example. Sometimes it beats the real deal in a blind contest. haha imho.
When it comes to versatility the VT series is likely to be your choice. Too many amps to choose from and you have pedals for your drives.

how would you want to obtain the tone to fit those genres?  through the amp or through pedals?

what your ears will NOT hear though is the amp's responsiveness. NONE is more responsive to your playing than a tube amp.
