Getting the new 'version'. Shipping out to me next Wednesday.

Here's the old one:

Here's the new one:

Here's what Paul said:

Quote

For the record I'm seeing people calling them "V2", but they're really not. Mostly its mechanical changes (moved the footswitch, DC jack, and added a 3-way toggle instead of the internal dip switches). The pedals still sound pretty much the same. I did change a cap value in the pedal, and added another cap to the output amp. These were pretty subtle changes. One was in the bass control. With the gain/bass/treble controls at zero it's a fairly flat booster pedal, but it was about -1dB at about 80hz which is right around the fundamental of the low "E" string. I increased the value of a cap in the bass control to get it flat at 80hz. The frequency point of the bass control is still at the same point, and it still has the same amount of cut. Also the output amp had a flat response up to 20khz and beyond which is just silly for a guitar pedal. I added a cap there which puts a small roll-off of -3dB at about 14khz which is well beyond what a clean guitar can produce. It's still pretty much the same pedal - doesn't really do anything it didn't before other than a more user friendly layout. As for the tone it seems just a hair “fuller” sounding in the bottom end when clean, and has a tiny bit less harshness on top of the overdrive due to the slight extra high end roll off of the added second filter pole. But to be honest you’d notice a bigger change with an opamp swap!

One minor layout change was swapping the position of the bass and gain control. I’ve already been asked why I did that. The answer is I thought it was a pretty trivial thing to do on the outside – it’s only got 4 knobs so it’s not really something that can be that confusing. But on the inside it made the layout of the circuit board much neater, and I also feel a much more solid build. Squeezing in the toggle switch, moving the led, and putting the DC jack on the back meant I had to rotate the pots in such a way that gave “barriers” in the circuit board that were hard to overcome neatly with the original pot layout. I fought with this for hours, but then just decided that it was better from a design standpoint to swap the two controls. Some people have voiced that they would like the controls grouped horizontally or vertically, but I settled on diagonally!

Yep! I am so stoked. Two Timmy's and one Tim on one board. Epic.
