Sound Essentials at SM-The Block
« on: May 04, 2010, 04:10:20 PM »
Hello guitar peeps! Just want to share with you this new store that I found. I'm not sure if it's a new store at SM The Block (but probably it is), but I've only noticed the store recently (or baka masyado na akong naglalagi sa office, hehehe).

They've got great accessories, and DR strings being one of them. They have coated strings for bass, electric and acoustic guitars.

This is my first time to use DR strings and all I can say is it's an eye candy :-) I bought strings for acoustics gauge 10 and 11 (comes in Red Devils). I also bought gauge 10 (Black Beauties) for my tele but I haven't installed it yet.

I installed the Red Devils (Gauge 11) in my takamine :-)

Also bought Shubb capo. This one looks solid and should last long.

hey, you got the shubb platinums! (or was that titaniums? aluminums? i forgot what type is that XD)
if you use shubbs you get complimented a lot hehe

if i'm not mistaken they're going to make the branch at the block the main one, and the moa branch just a supplementary one.

I believe they only have two types, aluminum and brass. Got the aluminum one because the store staff says it would last longer.

Perhaps because of the fact that it's quite easy to adjust to fit most of the guitar's neck shapes and sizes  :-D

Yes, it became available early last week. Meron ding Blue and Pink for bass guitars. Medyo na-weirdo-han ako sa color pink but I guess they are capturing the lady bassists  :-D :-D

Other than the capo and strings, I also bought George L's cable and a Levy's strap -- both of which hindi ko pa nagagamit.

They've been there quite some time.  Must be over a year, I remember shopping for some levy's around May last year.  May booth pa nga sila dati sa lobby, before they put up shop on the higher floor.   :-)

I also saw a guitar shop in SM Annex, in Cyberzone.  I saw Hardwire pedals and a Digitech Whammy there. Is this the same shop?

The Block is on the other side.  So you have Annex, SM main bldg, then The Block.  Haven't been to SM North in a few weeks, but I do know that you only have RJ guitars in Annex.

Yup! Annex is on the other side. I'm just asking if its the same shop that transferred location.  :-D

That's Silvergate at the 5th floor SM Annex (Cyberzone). Very small store. If i'm not mistaken, its a sub-branch of Audiophile. (not so sure though...)

i think sound essentials is the only store here in the metro that offers capos for 12-strings (Shubb capos), for that reason, bought one at their MOA branch. i've acquainted with one of their storekeepers there, formerly from MOA now he's at The Block branch, nice guy, willing to chat with you even if you've got nothing to buy on your visit.

Late ko na napansin na may capo nga for 12-strings. Next time siguro kukuha ako nito.

Late ko na din dumating ang George L's cable nila na color blue. Mas preferred ko sana ito  :x

I forgot to get the saleman's name.. but he is the best salesman I've EVER encountered. He explained pretty much everything I looked at (without me asking). Good stuff at that store. Nakakatempt yung George L's. Hehe.
