I'm affected because ang lalabo nung mga nagtatanggol. mali na nga tinatama pa..

I'm a diyer too.. i design my own pcb.. and I dont clone things to sell just a hobby.. Im an electronics enthusiast.

actually.. si keeley.. binibii muna niya yung DS-1 bago niya imod.. he doesn't clone it.. bibili muna siya ng DS-1 then modifies some parts and components sa loob.. so sa madaling salita, hindi apektado ang sales ng boss or anything..

i dunno bout the shredhead.. although yeah, clone siya ng crunchbox.. sana man lang binago yung ciruit design or layout (i'm basing this from the pics shown earlier).. para naman may justification or perhaps a sense of ownership..  

i'm not bashing anything nor anyone here.. i'm just saying my side.. been reading the thread kanina pa..

guys bottom line is kung gagamit tayo ng pag aari ng iba, eh humingi muna ng permiso lalo na kung ganyang commercial use, 50+ units sold right? now the pedal CB or SH are both good pedals, modded underneath or not, the layout belongs to someone else who clearly stated its not intended for what mark has used it for.

plugzz offered the best option for mark.

now para dun sa sasabihing pinoy binabasag ang pinoy, well mali ka jan. we filipinos would look worse kung ang "gumamit" (excuse the term) eh pinrotektahan natin... wouldn't you agree?

my question would be, bakit sa FSB? bakit walang may courage na mag point out dito sa philmusic nung ginawa ni mark? he may have erred on using an exact replica of the PCB layout but to expose it sa FSB screams of professional jealousy. sana dito pa lang sinabi nyo na agad para sana na correct before maging international yung shreadhead. i for one, am happy for the success the SH have been enjoying but kung "copy" nga talaga PCB layout, id rather volunteer my knowledge in helping mark design a new one than expose it in FSB, nakakahiya dun, mga kapwa pinoy nagbabangayan, tapos pinapangalandakan pang pinoy sila.

Shredhead is basically a modded crunch box... and all users know about it.


yung nasa FSB site, mga early versions pa yun syempre medyo messy pa wiring .. kayo talaga 

Makita nyo man ang TOP ng pcb, marami pang secret na 'nakapailalim' sa shredhead - mabuti pa bumili na lang kayo at i-disassemble nyo para malaman nyo

Whoa... I just read this thread now. Looks like another one of those ricabb7 vs. MonteAllums-type issues. You better do something about that PCB design, markv. Changing the component layout is the easiest solution to this problem and it's actually a pretty easy thing to do.

No fighting here, guys. I'm watching this thread.

You've got to have a good reason why you would let go of the SH. Kaya yun mga nakikita kong nagbebenta sa classifieds ay sinasabi na "EMERGENCY PURPOSES". As for me, SH is really a keeper.

Well if indeed may na-violate si Mark, I'm sure Mark can come up with something to fix this. Poundcake is right din.

Like one of the forumer said, tulungan natin siya. Sayang ang Shredhead. MarkV has done something great and the results and testimonials prove it. In that sense, masasabi ko na magaling talaga ang tainga niya at skills niya sa pag-mod.

And again, hindi siya tunog Crunch Box daw. Probably better pa as said by most people. That's what I'm after and not to save money and get the Crunch box sound off from a clone.

Actually, ito ang nasa mind ko kaya ako kampi kay Mark. Kasi modded siya at aminado naman na modded.

Ang hindi ako agree sa clones. Kawawa yung nag-design ng pedal mismo. Just my opinion.

pero yung PCB ang item na copyrighted and was not intended for commercial use
and tanging si mark V ang makakasagot kung kinopya nya nga yung PCB or not
i still suggest na palitan nya PCB nya before magkaproblema

Circuits themselves are not copyrighted. Names, logos and artwork (including PCB layouts) can be trademarked and copyrighted.

if you would look sa tunay na guts ng crunchbox (oh.. maraming versions yan ha.. nasa version 4 na yata ang MI Audio CB).. yung presence knob niya ay nasa loob in a form of trim pot..

ang ginawa nung iba na nagtrace ay nilabas nalang yung trim pot na yun para madali i-adjust..

there are also other different variations ng layout especially on improving the sound quality.. pero it lahat nun ay based din sa crunchbox.. oks?..

may mga layout na may 11 resistors.. meron ding layout na may 8 resistors lang.. see?.. those are mods or modifications.. pero lahat niyan ay based parin sa MI Audio Crunchbox.. kumbaga, yung puso niyan ay crunchbox.. inayusan lang ng kaunti..  

yun nalang ilabas yung Presence trim pot, modification na yun from the MI Audio Crunchbox.. same with the TS 808 clones ngayon.. merong may mga iba't-ibang modes ng clipping in the form of a mini toggle switch..

the orig crunchbox layout is different from madbean's layout..
actually madami nang cloners na gumawa ng kani-kanilang PCB layout ng crunchbox, at isa na ako don, hehe!

yah paps i know,kaya ko lang nabangit yung CB is kasi gawa ng crunchbox na pedal na yun ang pinaglayoutan ng SH,,base sa sinulid(thread) na ito,,, ngayon yung sa PCB naman nasagot na yung tanong ko kung ang PCB ba ng CB at ng Madbean ay iisa yun lang yun

hehe.. anybody can make their own enclosure.. hindi dahil iba enclosure ay iba na.. if you rehouse a legit MI Audio Crunchbox in a different housing and add your own cosmetic designs, would that be your original pedal work? i dunno.

We could go round and around the whole issue of cloning and intellectual property.  Ang daming gray areas dun, if you've seen threads about that issue elsewhere.  What I find interesting about all this is the threadstarter on FSB.  He joins the board just to 'dissect' the shredhead, and of all the boutique stomps he could dissect, he chose that.  That's weird, and it's the chewy center in this hard candy.

Malungkot.  I think we all have disagreements.  And we don't necessarily get along with each other.  But I think there is a line somewhere on which we choose to support each other, kahit galit ka sa tao.  And that line has been crossed.
