From Remo's website (http://www.remo.com/)

Pinstripe® heads are made with two 7-mil Mylar® plies, and have quick decay, making them ideal heads for the “fat” sounds of Pop, Rock and R&B and for those who want a low pitched sound with moderate attack and response characteristics.

Ambassador® heads are medium-weight heads made with a single ply 10-mil Mylar® film to produce an open, bright, and resonant sound with plenty of attack.

I prefer 2-ply skins for my toms, so I'd go for Evans' G2 or EC2 heads, or Remo's Pinstripe or Emperor heads.  I prefer more low end and a more round, more focused tom sound.

hehe, ako naman, I'm tired of my deep and low sounding toms! LOL! I'm lusting over ringy, high pitched toms. Next head change ko. Coated G1's :D

@All:

I'd take Evans over Remo anyday. Evans' coating just lasts longer. A LOT longer than Remo's. after 2 hours of playing my new 14" Coated Ambassador, the coating just wore off.. I have a coated G2 on my other snare, it has been on for around 2 weeks na. and the coating barely disappeared. LOL!

To each his own I guess.. Pero I know for a fact that Remo's coating sucks balls. LOL!  :lol:

No offense to the folks from Audiophile, but yeah... They do say that they'll be having a new shipment, but they can't really confirm when it will really come.  Which is why I got tired of asking them about their Evans shipments.

Adding to my last post...

What I notice is, one-time bigtime ang pagpasok ng shipments ng Evans drumheads dito.  So, if ever Audiophile's new Evans shipment finally arrives, I should immediately start purchasing some stocks for myself before supplies run out.  Others probably have the same idea.

But that doesn't make me stop buying and using Evans drumheads.  Like what I said, I get what I pay for.  I go for quality.  Remos are great heads too.  I just like Evans better.  I don't mind adding a few hundred pesos for something that would help me perform and sound better.

A couple of months ago, I was in search of a 13" Evans snare head for my 13" Tama Artwood, whose stock head finally gave in.  Naubos ang stock ng Audiophile, and I felt quite disappointed.  Even JB/Salonga ran out of 13" Remo Ambassadors during that time.  Thank God my friend got a spare 13" Ambassador head, I bought it from him.

Distributors should realize na napakadaming drummers sa Pilipinas, that they should always have steady supplies of drumheads.  And they should bring in various models too!  Remo's Ambassador and Pinstripe heads may sell like hotcakes, but they should also bring in some Powerstrokes and Emperors and other special models.  I hope there are representatives from the music shops and distributors who are reading this.

:wink:
