PALMM Phils. August 19-21, SMX

10AM nasa SMX nako, nag open 10:30am. ang ganda ng mga booths ngayon compare last year at parang mas madami sumali ngayon. yun shootout may schedule, pero na abutan ko yun sa EL KAPITAN na line array ("Nexo" ata?), ang lakassss! sila pa lang nag testing kaninang umaga. yun iba nag setup pa lang.

Yung DB at saka yung Nexo lang yung narinig ko kanina, bigla kasing pina tigil ng mga pulis yung shootout  . mga 4:30 ata yun. grabe yung tunog ng nexo!!! ang lakas tapos ang ganda pa ng tunog.. Babalik pa ako dun by saturday para pakinggan po yung mga ibang line array

@ Leonart - sir ok ba yun array ng DB? hanep yun tunog ng Nexo.... ang lakas, pati yun sub nya ang lakas talaga! kaninang umaga pag daan ko sa harap ng line array ng nexo nag vibrate yun loob ng kotse ko. hehe nag park ako sa kabilang side ng smx sa restaurant side, lakas pa din ng nexo.

yun subs ng Nexo dalawa lang ata pero ang lakas.... hehe babalik uli ako mamaya sa shootout check ko uli Nexo. nakita ko si 10 inch at beatbox sa show, kasali ba sila sa shootout? anong gamit nila na array?

Punta ako sa sat gusto ko marinig yun mga array.. wla ba yun martin audio? gusto ko ma compare sana yun martin at nexo

saw arrays of Nexo, RCF TT+, Beta 3, Kevler, L-Acoustics, Lexus, EV (daming ZX series pero di ko yata napansin arrays nila). heard Nexo, very loud and clear, simple setup  pa, Kevler array was surprisingly clear sounding. sayang kasi the rest were stale, i figured perhaps bigayan sila ng demo time or the whole place will be shaken down. yung isang Venue console akala ko gadget sa circus daming umiilaw at gumagalaw! grabe ang technology, i felt old tuloy!  worth the visit.

Don't get me wrong. It's nice that there are shows like this in Manila, but I guess, the next time, the organizers should warn people to bring earplugs. If you want to shatter your eardrums, PALMM is the best place to get it done. I really don't understand people can tolerate having a line array setup right in your face and blast it all the way to 120db, and still judge it as clear sounding. In other shows I've been to, exhibitor are only allowed to sound their system off for a max of 30 sec every hour. Some places, they will kill your power for an hour if you exceed the assigned SPL. Only here in the Philippines where you can find yourself deaf and still judge the sound as clear sounding.

My appeal to the organizers, have the balls to limit the levels. This is a trade show and people would want to discuss their technology and their products.

Oo sir ok rin yung db malinis at malinaw tumunog kaso nung tumunog na yung nexo (sorry for my term) nilamon talaga nito yung db. Mamaya babalik ako dun ulit para makinig ulit habang nag kakape. hehehehe

i was there at PALMM sad to say hindi ko naabutan ang shoot out sa loading bay dahil nag backout si El Capitan  Galang at nilipat nya sa loob ang line array nya. Luckily naka usap ko sya tungkol sa equiptment nya ang na demo nya sa akin ang nexo ,malinis tumonog maganda ang low, what i want sana na mapakinggan sa outdoor ang nexo.

Sir you said you heard arrays of L-Acoustics? sino po nagdala nun sa PALMM? too bad i was not able to hear the shoot out. But I heard the L-Acoustics 12" powered stage monitor speaker at Stagecraft's booth, i was really impressed with the sound quality! sobrang smooth ng tunog, i don't know how to describe it but the was so full and detailed. ang lupet tlga, sarap pakinggan kahit na sobrang lakas nung mga Lexus speaker sa katabing booth malinaw na malinaw parin maririnig yun L-Acoustics.

Btw, meron na bang touring company dito na my L-acoustics na array?. di ko pa naririnig yun mga array nila.

iba yun sub ng NEXO na ginamit sa shooutout sa likod ng EL kap compare sa naka display sa loob ng smx booth nila. ang laki ng sub na ginamit sa likod, 2 or 3 subs lang.

sorry sir, i thought i SAW an array at the same booth but not on, but i did saw the L-Acoustic cabs you mentioned (too bad i didn't get to hear them as well), would have been hard to critique kasi lakas ng level ng Lexus. read in PSW that a church in the US temporarily installed 5 pcs. ng L-Acoustics 15" 2-way cabs in an exploded setup yata but the they liked it so much na na-delay yung upgrade!

sayang sir you shuold have tried to listen to it,  it was really powerful for a 12"  you can really tell its price from its sound.
