Sabian's New Paragon Diamondback Chinese for Neil Peart
« Reply #303 on: July 18, 2007, 07:46:05 AM »

SABIAN master product specialist Mark Love and his team in the Vault worked really hard to get the right pitch (low) Neil was looking for as well as finding the exact spot where the jingles would vibrate most without choking the sustain of the cymbal. Stankee continues, "After they released the album it came time to replicate the Diamondback prototype that Neil used on the album. He didn't want to give it up as it was the only one. (Laughs) You've got to hand it to Mark for being able to take a description of sound over the phone, a couple of grainy photographs and his recollection of the original and turn it into a cymbal. That's patience AND talent!"

You'll be able to find the new Paragon Diamondback Chinese in stores later this summer.

>>>and cute ng cymbs...anu kaia tunog nyan...??

Neil Peart used the prototype China cymbal on Rush's new album "Snakes And Arrows".  You can check out that recording for this cymbal's sound.  He used this on a bunch of songs.  Neil also briefly talked about this prototype cymbal on his August 2007 Modern Drummer article, regarding his thoughts and experiences with their new album.

Iba nga ang dating nyan.  Listen to the intro of Rush's "Armor And Sword", from the new album.  Malakas talaga yung dating!

honestly, pangit yan. tipid na tipid ang sustain, olats talaga. i've tried  the set of 16" crash, 20" ride and 14" hi-hats sa bubble gang toppings bar in katipunan, ang tabang ng tunog! buti na lang may dala akong crash nun. sorry sa mga gumagamit ng solar dito pero opinyon ko lamang ito
if you can't join them, beat them!

It's the lowest of all entry-level/budget Sabian lines.  It's so low-end, it's not even featured on their website hehe!  Or perhaps Sabian has discontinued manufacturing these cymbals.  I'm not sure...

Here's a discussion about Sabian Solar cymbals, at Sabian's "The Zone" Forum --- http://www.sabian.com/sabiantalk/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=15&threadid=3110&enterthread=y .

They're made of brass, not bronze, and dont sound like 'real' cymbals.

Don't buy them, or you'll be sorry...well, just my opinion... :-)

PEACE!   8-)

bro ipon ka na lang... tiis lang hehe.. i suggest if you are a little bit short try the sabian b8s set.. they are much more good sounding than the solar sets. ayoko din talaga tunog ng solar eh prang bitin sa sustain.. kase sa studio na pinagprapraktisan ko solar yung gamit nila nabibitin ako sa tunog.. just my opinion lng po..

is it because of budget constraints thats why you are asking for review on solars?...man if you will settle for planet z or solar i suggest you might consider those stagg cymbals..i think that will fit your budget  or better yet save up ang invest on higher models..cymbals are investments bro

mga sir! balak ko kasi bumili ng set of sabians... b8 or b8 pro ang trip ko kasi na-try ko gumamit and satisfied ako sa tunog nya. ask ko lang kung matibay ang sabians. gaano sya katagal naglalast? nakakalungkot kasi pag nasira sya agad e halos di nako kumakain mabili lang yun. tnx sa mga magrereply and any suggestions kung meron kayong mas prefer na set kaysa sa sabians. tnx po!  :-)

Sabian XS20?
« Reply #324 on: September 07, 2007, 01:05:24 PM »
Ask ko lang po kung ano mas maganda sa dalawa.

Me nagbebenta po kasi sakin ng Sabian XS20 14" hats for 4 thou.  All logos intact and very gud condition.

Ang gamit ko pong hi-hat sa church namin is a Zildjian New Beat 14" hats.

Medyo malapit po ba tunog ng Sabian XS sa New Beat?

Thanks po.  Bka kasi bilhin ko sa 15th e.

Eto po pala actual pic nya
