I also don't buy SUA. pero I have 3 friends who are victims of SUA, all of which are car enthusiasts. 2 of them are car shop owners and the other races. so it's really hard to discount which is really the truth. btw, these guys don't know each other, but their narration of the events were pretty similar.
for one, do you own a Montero? I don't and I don't buy into the SUA thing as well, pero hindi rin natin pwedeng idiscount na may flaw talaga sa design (pedal level, no shift lock).
nope don't own a montero but i own something with same kind of pedal set up. i don't think it's flawed if the pedals are set evenly together, mitsubishi must have good reason to do so.
no shift lock sa brake pedal. nothing a little awareness and familiarity can't get around on. i mean i switch between my car and friends' cars (mostly a/t) and i don't run into
problems. i actually learn a lot swapping cars with friends. parang reverse lang ng oto ko to, if you're not familiar with how a 4-speed is laid out or works, hindi mo maipapark paatras yung oto.
i think what you mean to say is hindi "intuitive" yung montero design in question, but why should driving be intuitive when it should be more a logical process? because what is intuitive to one may not apply to all.
my point is simple. the driver should be in ultimate control of the vehicle at all times, unless there is a mechanical failure that would cause you to lose the ability to
reliably provide input into the vehicle. but all SUA cases are with vehicles at or almost at a standstill. our problem lies mostly with inept drivers. the montero's design may
lend to the matter, but it's still the driver's feet on the pedals.
sometimes din i wonder why TGPH social media admins act that way - fanning the flames instead of mitigating them. it must be a
fairly boring job, plus they get to hide anonymously behind TGPH's name. then again, even Top Gear UK really seem to be sarcastic and
douche-y. honestly though, if mitsubishi is buying out the print media for its gains, they'd have to buy out a lot of media outlets, and that is discounting
independent reviewers. it's possible but i kinda don't buy it at the moment.
