Customs to auction off P27M worth of used cars, other goods
The auction will be held at the Manila International Container Port on December 14

MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) expects to raise around P27 million in its upcoming public auction of seized and abandoned goods.

The BOC will auction off 46 container vans containing used vehicles, e-bikes, and other goods at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) on December 14.

The government expects to raise more than P27,745,493.90 in revenue as it bids out the goods in a total of 24 lots, according to the MICP Auction and Cargo Disposal Division.

Among the goods to be bidded out include 3 x 40-foot containers containing one electric car, 9 electric passenger multicabs, two scooter bikes, and one all-terrain vehicle (ATV) with a floor price of P1,028,170.50.

Other vehicles to be auctioned off are one used Honda CRV 2000 model pegged at P150,000.00; one used 1986 Toyota car valued at P36,000.00; a Chevrolet Venture with a floor price of P30,000.00; and two units of used 2003 Hyundai Starex ambulance models with a floor price of P848,000.00.

Three e-bikes with a floor price of P60,000.00 will also be sold to qualified bidders.

Besides vehicles, one 40-foot container with computer CPUs and computer parts (mouse, keyboard) will also be sold to qualified bidders at a floor price of P3,360,000.00.

Also up for bidding are two 40-foot containers of Alejandrino I, a wine product of Spain, with a floor price of P1,901,400.00.

Other merchandise include glass bottles, golf bags, galvanized steel sheets, and clothing.

The MICP will hold a public viewing of the merchandise and a pre-bid conference on December 12 and 13. Interested bidders may inquire with the MICP by calling 245-4101 local 2283 or 247-0977, or through the BOC website. – Rappler.com

I read sa forums na kung hindi laging ginagamit yung sasakyan, wag daw magdudunlop dahil prone to bukol daw. hayyyyy nagsisisi tuloy ako bakit ako nagdunlop ulit.

EDSA traffic doubled in the past five years, says MMDA

Travel time on EDSA has doubled in the past five years, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said, according to a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday.
For instance, if it took 42 minutes to travel from Roxas Boulevard to Monumento via EDSA back in 2011, it now takes more than one hour to do so.
Traffic has also started building up early in the morning nowadays on major roads of Metro Manila.
Among these roads are Marcos Highway, Shaw Boulevard, and Roxas Boulevard.
In 2010, traffic along Marcos Highway would build up starting at 8 a.m.
However, heavy traffic is already noted on that road at 6 a.m. nowadays.
The holiday rush has made traffic heavier, with the number of vehicles on the road increasing by 25 percent.
Because of this, a proposal was made by the Department of Transportation to grant emergency powers to President Rodrigo Duterte to solve the traffic problem.

Phase-out ng jeepney tuloy – LTFRB

I own an Eon.

Pros
- tipid sa gas (15km/l city driving, 18-20km/l highway driving)
- madali maghanap ng parking slot
- madali magmani-obra sa traffic
- spacious compartment. Kasya combo amp at gitara ko
- looks good stock compared specially sa Mirage. Mas pumopogi kapag napalitan ng 13s or 14s x 6 mags, body kits, projector lights

Cons
- most common issue is the easy-to-break cable shifter lalo na kapag bara-bara magkambyo
- auxiliary fan gives up around 30k-40k mileage though depends on how you use the car
- mahina hatak syempre. 800cc lang ang engine. Expect mong maiiwan ka ng traffic o kaya mabu-bully ka ng mas malalaking sasakyan
- may mga nabasa akong issues like tunog diesel, may hissing sound, etc. Ang common solution is to fill up with 95 octane gasoline to eliminate engine knocks.

Eon used to come in 2 variants, the GL and GLS. Pero ginawa nila ngayon, pinagsama yun features. GLX na lang ang variant with the interior of the GL and exterior of the GLS.

I suggest you join FB groups of each car models to get more in-depth reviews and experience from car owners themselves.

5-Percent Price Hike Looms for All Mitsubishi Vehicles

Mitsubishi Motors Philippine Corp. (MMPC) announced recently its plans to issue a 3 to 5-percent price increase across its catalog. The reason for the increase, the Japanese vehicle manufacturer claims, is the Philippine peso’s deteriorating value against the U.S. dollar.

“As much as MMPC would like to maintain the prices of its vehicles at their current prices, MMPC is constrained to adjust its prices since the severe forex environment has raised significantly the importation costs of these vehicles,” the car manufacturer said in a press release.

MMPC says the increase will be implemented starting January 2017, and will affect all Mitsubishi and Fuso models, so if you have plans to buy a new Mitsubishi car/pickup or Fuso bus/truck, it’s best to do it soon. A 3 to 5-percent increase equates to about a Php 10,000 to Php 20,000 addition to the price tag of a Mitsubishi or Fuso vehicle.
