Fuel taxes will also increase under new DOF proposa

Diesel fuel oil (per liter)

Current – P0.00

2018 – P3.00

2019 – P5.00

2020 – P6.00

Regular gasoline (per liter)

Current – P4.35

2018 – P7.00

2019 – P9.00

2020 – P10.00

Leaded premium gasoline (per liter)

Current – P5.35

2018 – P7.00

2019 – P9.00

2020 – P10.00

Lubricating oils, petroleum and non-petroleum based additives (per liter)

Current – 4.50

2018 – P7.00

2019 – P9.50

2020 – P10.00

In three years, that's a P6 increase per liter for diesel, P5.65 for regular gasoline, P4.65 for premium, and P5.50 for lubricants and additives. Come to think of it, this is going to hit everyone—car or no car.

Not true. That's a notion that has to die.

Isang maling notion rin 'to. Physics.

have tried driving Toyota Wigo a couple of months ago. From Manila to Angeles Pampanga para lang humabol sa gig ng tropa.

Differences of small hatch back cars than a typical sedan that I drive:
* fuel consumption +1 for wigo
* steering +1 for wigo
* comfort +1 wigo
* speed -nothing beats the traffic in Ph so not applicable.
* trunk space +sedan.

Toyota Wigo 1.0 G MT specs

1.0L
998cc
3 cylinder
12 valves
5 speed manual

Front wheel drive
65hp @6000rpm
85Nm @3500rpm
33L

Wigo makes it 2nd against Mirage GLS that has 1.2L engine according to Top Gear Ph's "Battle of the Hatches" shoot out. Eon make it on third place beating Picanto and Celerio of Suzuki.

Well, I guess I need to be corrected on what I said. Problema eh, those long distance runs require rigorous engine checks and strict maintenance to be done. Sama mo na yung may requirement sa timbang bago umandar. The wear and tear is quicker as well.

True. Mas mabilis tumaas ang mileage, mas mabilis ang wear and tear. Mas magastos rin syempre kasi mas mabilis mo tatakbuhin yung every 5k PMS.

Yung nagtour ng Eon nya sa buong Pilipinas had his car maintained every 5k mileage sa iba't ibang casa, kung saan man sya abutin. He had his trip documented sa FB group ng Eon owners.

Congress eyeing revised two-phase, five-bracket auto excise tax system

In the last week there has been a lot of information spreading on social media about the impending excise tax on automobiles, one of the components of the Comprehensive Tax Reform Program (CTRP) put forth by the Department of Finance (DOF) for the House of Representatives under House Bill 4774.

The CTRP was initiated after then-presidential candidate Duterte promised the voting public a tax reform that would see personal income taxes (PIT) lowered. The CTRP was crafted to be a pro-poor tax reform plan, and will lower (or even remove) income taxes from low-income Filipinos, but will levy heavier taxes on many goods, including fuel and automobiles

LTFRB, Land Bank launch cashless payment to remove fixers

MANILA - Transport franchise holders will soon be able to pay fees and fines through ATM or debit cards.
Land Bank and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) launched a cashless payment system and 'inclusive banking center' on Monday that aims to make transactions faster and weed out corruption.
Land Bank president Alex Buenaventura said the cashless payment system will eliminate LTFRB 'fixers' or unauthorized people who promise to 'fix' s person's papers in exchange for money.
In the new system, people who need to pay LTFRB fees or fines will need a Land Bank ATM or debit card. People can apply for these cards at the inclusive banking center.
Land Bank and LTFRB will test the new payment system for three months in the agency's main office before rolling it out in provincial offices.

Kung marunong mag take advantage yung driver sa momentum when driving through hills i believe wear and tear is of less concern there except kung sira sira yung daan syempre. I think mas mabilis ang wear and tear sa makina when driving through higway(expressway), that is if the driver is maintaining a constant high speed (140kph) for hours.
