Divert the "itch" to other stuff. In my case, I look for raw guitar tracks of popular guitarists and try to emulate them using my multi-effects through constant A/B'ing.

Admittedly, I just found an Ishibashi store near my school and got to test an MXR CAE 404. Guess who wants one now T_T

know when to draw the line...and evaluate your needs..for me engaging GAS depends on a lot of factors...alam ko ginawan ko na ng GAS 4 way test to before..teka search ko..

Dati I was gassing for NTMs Signa Drive.. Ano ginawa ko para hindi ako ma-GAS?

I place myself as among the audience..

Dati kasi sa church, I used to lead singing.. These days I spend time more with the congregation (audience), instead of the music team (band).. And I saw that the audience do not particularly care about the overdriven guitar sound, as they do with the whole sound of the band.. They don't know even what a creamy overdrive is, nor would care if the guitar sounded muddy.. All they care about is if the band "lifts their spirit" to sing..

And IMHO think this goes for all other band as well.. If there's one who will critique a band's guitar sound, it will often be another guitarist, or maybe a sound engineer.. More often than not, the audience simply wants the band to be tight.. A few in a crowd before a concert would care if you spew the best tube amp sound..

So that's what I think about when I gas for something.. Kaya I get to save to get better gears, I hope..

Play a ton of gigs...when i'm busy playing out i hardly think of gear (as long as everything in my rig works) pag medyo bumagal na, ayan na ang GAS. HEHE
