I dunno man. Too much gain perhaps. Ironic for someone who likes rock and roll. Hehe. I like the clarity and responsiveness of overdrives. I subscribe to the "less gain, more tone" thinking. I find that they have just the right amount of gain to cover most bases.

i respect your preferences bro. kanya kanya lang tone yan! up for you!

Di ka nagkamali jan sa shredhead bro. \m/

Alam mo bro, for now if sinasabi mo na hindi mo mabigyan ng hustisya ang SH mo, just make it as a challenge. Just put your goal na kunwari next year, yung hustisya na yan, sobra sobra mo pang nabigay.  :-D

DF-7 Distortion Factory™ Seven must-have disortion models

Distortion pedals are as important to the world of guitar playing as guitar playing is to modern music. How do you get a whole spectrum of distortion tones? You can spend a fortune on individual stompboxes (and have a pedal board the size of Delaware)… or you can put our new X-Series™ DF-7 Distortion Factory™ to work.

You not only get DigiTech quality models like the Ibanez® TS-9 Tube Screamer®*, EH® Big Muff™ π*, Pro Co Rat™*, Metal Zone®* and DOD® Overdrive/Preamp 250, you also get a ton of EQ control. That’s because the DF-7 features three dual concentric tone controls so you can customize each model with High, Mid, Midrange and Low semi-parametric EQ. If you’re a distortion freak (and who isn’t?), check out the new X-Series™ DF-7 at your DigiTech dealer today.

A flexible pedal capable of producing overdrive, distortion, or a combination of both. Get "in your face" distortion while maintaining the subtle nuances of single-coil guitar pickups.

OS2 reviews.

Well, it seems perfect to me since I love overdrive to death and I hate those metal, death metal, super metal, heavy metal stomp boxes.
I tried every distortion pedal from boss and the only this and the dual overdrive are really cool. Metal zone is awful, too much feedback, difficult to use, fake distortion sounds, the turbo distortion is worse, in fact it is not a ditortion box, it is a horrible and shapeless noise box, hypermetal sux ass, really bad, so treble and fake sounding, DS-1 was too weak, not enough distortion, OD-3 was also weak, SD-1 is sooo weak and the fuzz is ok, but not of my liking. From other brand marks DOD manufactures the worst pedals in the world, really horse [gooey brown stuff] such as supradistortion, grunge or deathmetal. Danelectro fab tone is in the middle, not bad, but not a good one.
I was suspicious about OS-2 'cos it is a geeneral rule that 2 in one products are a crap, but what a surprise, it is so good for me, the overdrive is really similar to a tube amp, the distortion is heavy and with a proper feedback level, the overdrive and distortion together are cool. the settings between overdrive side, 12 o'clock and distortion side can get a little treble, so you gotta adjust tone and your amp's bass/mid/treb.
Very versatile, excellent sounds, not so expensive and easy to use.
I use this with a Fender telecaster, a danelectro cool cat and a Morley wah/volume always at the beggining of the pedalboard trough a delta blues 210 tube amp.

for BOSS MT2- USERS:

BOSS' Most Popular Pedal!
MT-2 Features dual-gain circuitry for thick, tube stack distortion with heavy mids and lows and long-lasting sustain. A 3-band EQ with semi-parametric mids takes your sound to the extreme.

REVIEWS:

he Boss MT-2 was designed to provide heavy distortion via one unit, something many pedals strive for however few can actually deliver. It comes with a 3 band EQ coupled with a mid frequency control and standard volume and gain(distortion) controls. It is not a particularly easy pedal to get a good sound out of but this is due to the complexity of the control system that you are offered. However anyone with previous experience with this style of control should be at home here and have no difficulty achieving the sound they desire. The manual does make it easier for begginers to understand the controls and also comes with a range of generic preset examples such as 'heavy metal' and 'fuzz' which although handy for a basic idea, it is much better to map the output of the pedal to match your particular guitar/amp. As far as I am aware there has been 2 models of MT-2 made available, however the Original model, which many claim to be the best, is no longer manufactured. This review is for the newer model.
