OS2 reviews.
Well, it seems perfect to me since I love overdrive to death and I hate those metal, death metal, super metal, heavy metal stomp boxes.
I tried every distortion pedal from boss and the only this and the dual overdrive are really cool. Metal zone is awful, too much feedback, difficult to use, fake distortion sounds, the turbo distortion is worse, in fact it is not a ditortion box, it is a horrible and shapeless noise box, hypermetal sux ass, really bad, so treble and fake sounding, DS-1 was too weak, not enough distortion, OD-3 was also weak, SD-1 is sooo weak and the fuzz is ok, but not of my liking. From other brand marks DOD manufactures the worst pedals in the world, really horse [gooey brown stuff] such as supradistortion, grunge or deathmetal. Danelectro fab tone is in the middle, not bad, but not a good one.
I was suspicious about OS-2 'cos it is a geeneral rule that 2 in one products are a crap, but what a surprise, it is so good for me, the overdrive is really similar to a tube amp, the distortion is heavy and with a proper feedback level, the overdrive and distortion together are cool. the settings between overdrive side, 12 o'clock and distortion side can get a little treble, so you gotta adjust tone and your amp's bass/mid/treb.
Very versatile, excellent sounds, not so expensive and easy to use.
I use this with a Fender telecaster, a danelectro cool cat and a Morley wah/volume always at the beggining of the pedalboard trough a delta blues 210 tube amp.
