as far as i know fil-am band ang Death Angel.. with pepa brothers pero hindi ko sure ngaun.. parang hindi na ata.. all american members na sila pati founding members wla na.

any details po?

Ang original members ay magpi-pinsan na taga-Concord, CA., sa San Francisco Bay Area.  Pinoy band nga at iyon ang identity nila dito sa San Francisco at sa America.  Natatandaan ko noong una akong naging-aware sa Death Angel ay nang tanungin ako ng isang puting co-worker kung ano yung sinabi ng isang miyembro sa dulo ng kanta.  Pinarinig niya sa akin at ang sinabi sa Tagalog ay: "...baho ang [ice cream] mo."(May censorship pala rito.  Nasira tuloy yung kwento. Iyan ang mahirap sa Pilipino.  You can f**k but you can't K****t)
Napanood ko rin sila ng dalawang beses noong early 90's.  Mga teen-ager pa lang sila noon.  Yung isa ay sa defunct Stone Club ng San Francisco (across the Filipino owned Mabuhay Gardens where the San Francisco punk scene used to be) at ang kakaiba sa concert ng Death Angel ay nandoroon ang mga matatandang Pinoy na pawang mga lolo at lola, tatay at nanay, tiyo at tiya nila na uma-attend ng isang trash metal concert.  Yun bagang pawang kulturang Pinoy na halos yung buong barangay ay maghahatid sa airport.  Wala namang problema sa mga puting fans nila at sa kanila.
Iyon ang napansin kong diperensya ng mga Pilipino sa 'Pinas at sa Amerika.  Ang mga Pinoy dito walang bahid ng colonial mentality na tinatawag natin.  Matindi ang epekto nito sa pag-iisip.  Kung hindi ka na-expose sa colonial experience, mataas ang self confidence mo o kumpyansa sa sarili kaya handa kang makipagtunggali kahit kanino at alam mong kasinggaling ka o higit ka pa sa kanila.  Hindi ka manggagaya at gusto mo kakaiba ka.  Makikita mo ang kabataang Fil-Am na may mga tato na alibata natin ang sulat sa kanilang mga baraso.  Born sila dito hindi galing Pilipinas.
Mabalik uli tayo sa Death Angel.  Oo nga na nag-quit na yung iba pero tatlo pa rin silang Pinoy sa banda.  Isa na lang sa original line-up.  Pero nandiyan lang yang mga 'yan dahil magkakamag-anak sila.  Ika nga sa Ingles: 'Blood is thicker than water.'

wala na pala si dennis pepa & andy galeon sa lineup?  so that makes three pinoys remaining in the lineup...still, worth checking out in the pulp summerslam this year (which i hardly go to due to the abundance of orcs and jay-jays) with anthrax and hellyeah!  :-D
