share ko lang. i recently bought a 2nd hand area 51 wah (by looking at the circuit you can see its based on a vintage italian kit).
this is the first time am gonna use a wah but all i can say is it screams and wahs-wahs or what ever you call it better than all the wah pedals i compared with it (vox's, cry baby). the only thing i dont like is the cosmetic condition. okay na sana ung idea e. blue flames to complement the blue LED.
kaya lang ang panget sobra ng paint job. d ako mapakali. naghahanap ako ng pwede bilhin na second hand na wah para kunin lang ung housing. hirap makahanap. makahanap man sobra naman mahal para lang kunin ung kaha.
i even tried calling up local guitar shops here to ask if tehy can re-house my wah. pero sobra mahal. kesyo oorderin pa daw sa US (130sgd including shipping) plus service charge of 40sgd) sobra mahal. hanggang sumuko na ako.

Pero naisipan ko na lang na magrestore. dahil siguro wala din ako magawa. at mukhang magandang activity naman and i-restore and isang magandang bulok na bagay.

hinde pa tapos ang process pero gusto ko lang i-share ung progress kung may interesado lang makabasa.

original condition when i got the pedal. paint chipping off and "area 51 equipped" plate corroded at nag pepeel off na ang decals.

i took off the rubber para simulan mag [pichapie] ng pintura.
note na hinde ko tinanggal ung circuit sa loob kasi wala ako pang solder sa ngaun...buka sbili ako

i plan to have it painted here or sa pinas (para mas mura) sa tulong ng kuya kong si plugzzzz.

ito na lang muna sa ngaun.
ay oo nga pla, nag e-mail ako sa area 51 kung pwede nila ako bgyan ng bagong logo plate for free kung oorder ako ng buffer kit.
sana kumagat sila at bgyan nila ako ng libreng logo plate kahit hinde n ko bumili buffer kit.

just an update. dan of area 51 already replied to my e-mail.
he says he can sell me the buffer kit 34usd and a new area 51 logo plate for 5usd plus flat rate shipping of 15sgd. medyo magastos din pla

i'll be ordering soon kasi inaayus ko pa paypal account ko.heheheheh.
also i did some re-search on local powder coatings shops. hopefully they accept small jobs like mine.

here's my concept for the look.

a vintage shelby with racing stripes. eleonore of gone in 60 secs.

honestly hinde ko alam ung fasel - fasel. all i know is vintage italian kit sya with some upgrades like ung TBP and blue led. with crappy custom paint job. hahahaha

update sa wah restoration:

old brass plate....kinaskas ko ung original n logo kasi medyo nag-tarnish na.
nilagyan ko na lang ng decal at clear coat finish.

yellow ung paint finish ng hoising. bukas ko pa makukuha.
pinagpipilian kong decal ung red or black racing stripes.

hirap mg print ng water decal paper kahit laser printer.
sana maayus matapos

had a good and bad day today.
I went to see my project jobsite today to meet my client and contrator.
actually i was more excited to see what the contractor has done to my wah housing but i was really disappointed.
he did a bad paint job to the metal housing. he said it can not be powder coated because its not aluminum and powder coat wouldn't adhere.
the paint job was really bad, it had some paint chips and besides that he accidentally melted a part of the metal panel.

but the thing that made my day was i get to ride my client's car

the paint job could have been something like this.
this time i gave up already and decided to do everything by my self. bought some x-metal converter metallic gloss primer (did some research and its says that to paint an aluminum i need a metal converter.....its supposed to adhere to aluminum)

so i re-remove the bad paint job and did a bit on sanding on the aluminum and painted it the metallic gray primer.

also it says on the re-search painting this kind of stuff needs patience...so this time ill keep my cool and wait for the right time before i do anything else.

next step will be clear coating which i think i can do later in the afternoon. then ill put on the decals.
i will need to stick to my original plan to do something like the shelby. sana matapos na

foot panel. when i finished spray painting wala ung maliliit b bubble.ung nilagay ko ung decal at ng buga clearcoat lumitaw sila. pero maliit lng. palagay ko kaya sa papel de liha maayus

actually iniisip ko din gawen un, kaso sabi nung nag momod dto maganda n daw area 51 sweep. quak control at buffer kit na lang daw pwede nya idagdag.....saka n cgro kpg natuyo n paint job

update. nilagay ko n electronics at ibang components. i noticed small bubbles appeared after a few hours of drying. ubos na clear coat finish ko so i would have to do with these bubbles. tapos na to mamaya gabi pag balik ko after office

buti nalang wala masiyadong text labels (eg. level, tone, etc.) yung mga wah mas mahirap gawin yun hehe
