Picked up an EC-50 completely out of the blue just because it was on sale. I don't know, I was looking around guitars for my budget and it was the only guitar that caught my heart at first sight, and especially at first strum.

Sure its not a high-end model but I'm loving it ;) feels like a huge upgrade over my Squier Strat lololol

Here's pics I snapped with my phone during the unbox. I'll take better shots with a better camera next time, I just love how it looks like, though I'm having a harder time cleaning the satin finish compared to my last guitar which was glossy :,D

Currently liking the sound I get from the stock pickups, but I'll probably upgrade them when I feel like em, or get a good deal lol

Matte black! Nice. Avoid scratching it as much as possible. Mas mahirap imaintain yung matte compared sa gloss.

Thanks! And yeah you are so right about the difficulty in maintaining the finish :|

Contemplating if I could get it refinished into a glossy coat though. Renovation lang. New pickups and a glossy coat after a year haha

It will get glossy if you use it frequently. I think the oil from your skin will make it so. That's what I have experienced with my matte black guitar. Oh and why don't you use the money for refinishing to buy a set of pickups instead?

Ngek, instant gloss :)) trying to wipe off those spots nga ngayon eh.

I do plan to buy pickups next though. Pero if there's extra that can be spent of refinishing, then I'll do that :D

Yeah instant. lol I guess you could wear an armband to prevent contact of oil or sweat to the guitar. Btw, where did you buy that Eclipse of yours? Is that the one at SM North?

I don't see why not, its a good guitar, sulit gift na rin. Even comes with a gig bag.

But if you're looking to make it his upgrade guitar, I think the EC-50 comes in as a much better choice. Better pickups, and between the 10 and 50 I tried out, the 50 had a better setup, especially with the action, but that's something you can fix.
