Djent!
« on: May 05, 2011, 08:17:54 PM »
Panalo talaga Periphery, Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, Sikth, tsaka After the Burial, though minsan nauumay din ako pag sobra sobrang breakdown na naririnig ko.  :-D

Oo nakakaumay talaga pag nasobrahan.

Dig Periphery, Keith Merrow, and Chimp Spanner. Then, lotsa bands came out as well and it started to sound boring  :|.

I really wouldn't classify Meshuggah as djent. The typical "djent" bands out there are more within the progressive metalcore/deathcore vein and Meshuggah is... Meshuggah  .

Amen to the bands mentioned! Haha. Yung problem kasi eh sobrang daming naglabasan na ganyan ang ginagawa before pa maging big yung scene. I guess the same thing happened with the 8 string. Pero kanya kanyang trip lang yan.  :-D

Iba pa rin talaga ang Meshugaaaaaaah...

Haha.

if you listen to how they create songs, grabe kakalito yung breakdown. tried covering some songs and the riffs will mess with your head, dati yun pero ngayon mejo ok na. I dig bulb's melodic stuff more compared to his other chaotic songs

I prefer the more melodic/ambient, "song-oriented" ones than the typical meshuggah clones lol.

For example, I could pop in the whole AAL album in the car and have a chill ride (except for a couple of songs maybe lol). Whereas bands like whitechapel, BOO and similar others bore me after a few songs.

Ako din. Some songs are just plain boring repetitions, I really prefer melodic stuff then delay effect galore. Tosin Abasi is a monster, an animal!

Ah yeah. Talagang nag incorporate na sila ng madaming layers, melodic passages and ambient stuff. Chimp Spanner, Keith Merrow and tsaka Cloud Kicker din pala panalo!

anyone here attempting to cover/have covered meshuggah songs?

I just got my squier telecaster from the province today and plan on restringing it with the bottom strings of an 8 string guitar(basically 7 string set plus bass string) minus the high e and b strings :D

can't wait lol, I've always wanted an 8 string but can't justify buying one at the moment, this'll have to do for now lol
