ako kay rico.....preference ko lng siguro....versatile ang dating sa akin....kung sabing nanggaya sila...lahat naman ng banda nag eevolve...metallica?

bamboo magaleng...pero mga songs nila eh parang isang tono and tunog na lng...pero magaling din si bamboo...pero ang isang album na pakinggan mo eh parang isang tono....di mo ma differentiate ang kanta...pero astig sya

rico for the talent in music and songwritting.. ok na rin naman sya mag vocals ngayon unlike before.. but u can't really compare due to diff genres...

I had the chance to interview Bamboo (the man) before. He went to the US to study Arts (creative writing and film) in College... Ayaw kasi ng dad niya na mag arts siya (gusto computers) kaya he had to support his own studies. He left 'Maya naman daw coz he's so young and di pa siya sure kung pagbabanda talaga ang gusto niyang gawin. Nagiging routine na raw ang buhay niya kaya he thought "so... this is it?". Then he came to realize while he was away na pagiging vocalist talaga ang calling niya. Pero syempre, pagbalik niya, wala na siyang babalikan dahil anyan na si Rico. Plus, Nathan was out of Maya na, so they formed Bamboo (the band). Just so interested peepz know. And he's not masungit... Mukha lang... Aminado naman siya na nung RM days, oo. Pero ngayon, at ease na siya sa fans.

So di rin natin basta basta masasabing walang say si Bamboo pagdating sa writing. Rico, ok din ang songwriting niya! Vocals, Bamboo, no doubt. At tama yung comment before, everything happens for a reason. At least, dalawang banda na ang nagbibigay satin ng good songs. At di rin sana madidiscover yung mga bago nilang bandmates na uber sa galing (heard Maya's guitarist? Lufet! And Bamboo's octupus drummer? Bangis!).

pag vocals, hands down I love Bamboo. There's something wrong sa voice ni rico for me. i mean, can you imagine rico doing a bamboo song? NO. Heck NO. on the otherhand, bamboo can sing a ballad better than rico. kita naman yun sa early albums ng rivermaya di ba? he can sing different genres.

im not sure kung sino yung main songwriter nila dati sa RM, pero whoever he was (or is), is good.

as for RM today, they seem too comercialized.

still can't compare them both becoz they have diff styles and hav diif genres.. both bands are commercialized.. rico's roots came from the late 70's but more on the 80's where brit artists/bands existed.. as for bamboo, not sure kung ano musical influences nya..

for me, i think mas commercialized yung RM than bamboo now. but setting aside their genres or whatever pa mang parameter and base your choice solely on whom you like better, bamboo ako. hehe. halatang may kinikilingan ako. sorry. mas cute kasi si bamboo eh.

pero on a more serious note, i actually like rico's songs now. im not into bamboo's sound. pero mas nadadala ako kasi sa boses ni bamboo, plus he's got more stage presence than rico.

During those days, kapag wala si Bamboo sa gig - Rico Blanco can fill in the shoes of Bamboo (kahit na medyo sumasablay ng konti tuloy pa din ang gig) . But never did Bamboo fill in the shoes of Rico Blanco kapag wala si Rico- chances are hindi na tuloy ang gig....hindi kayang gawin ni Bamboo ang ginagawa ni Rico.

Voice quality and showmanship lang ang lamang ni Bamboo.

Pero when it comes to songwriting, arranging, playing various instruments - playing the guitar while singing, playing the keyboards while singing --- Praise goes to Rico!
